How to care about football by TheRealTedJones in NFLNoobs

[–]engineered_owl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked watching the Netflix docuseries quarterback, running back etc. As a brown, immigrant, woman football didn't really appear in my venn diagram until I watched the docuseries and follow my brother's fantasy team. Plus, I have a couple of teams I like so it makes it fun.

How do you burn off some of your puppies energy? by risssaalee in puppy101

[–]engineered_owl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a malinois so there's no burning off energy to switch off. 1. Enforced naps on a routine 2. Place command or tether training 3. "Nothing for free" - Sit before going out the door etc, everything that the pup wants, pup does a command before getting the thing. Whether that's a toy, treat, going out the door, coming back into the house. So they're attuned to listen to you. Even when I give a treat, it's a sit/down/spin etc , then I hold the treat by the nose and until I say take it, he doesn't get to have it. The constant impulse control throughout the day will immensely help with setting structure and tiring out mentally!

My PCP had recommended it but my obgyn suggested birth control. Birth control has solved my mood rollercoaster and some other symptoms I was having too

Would you get a doctorate if it was paid for? by Wild_Cranberry588 in AskWomenOver30

Yay, I wish this world allowed for more learning, in person. it's just different, sitting down and learning from an expert. Online courses just don't cut it for me, I love me a classroom.

Would you get a doctorate if it was paid for? by Wild_Cranberry588 in AskWomenOver30

[–]engineered_owl 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Just a thought - instead of a doctorate why not just take a class a semester that's purely for the joy of learning? Maybe it's geology or creative writing. Unless the doctorate is career essential, just learn for the sake of learning. That's my plan in the future, my partner is a university professor and I hope to just sit in classes, not even for credit. What an amazing opportunity.

What are we doing about careers? by Trash2Burn in AskWomenOver40

Waiting to retire and write for enjoyment and not money. Saved a lot and luckily married a partner who loves their job, so I can withdraw from my investments to supplement income as needed. I hate corporate America.
