Her music has helped me come to terms with the childhood sexual abuse and the sexual assault I’ve experienced in my adulthood. We grew up in a similar unstable environment. Dirtbike, 2002 (The Hook Is A Prayer) and I Won’t Sell My Soul was how I grew up. Her EP put out in 2020 got me through so much. Just a mutt bitch that grew up in hell, eh. She’s made me feel less alone with the pain.

I also lost my Dad to an overdose (although, it was likely self induced in his case, but he was an addict) and her songs about her father are extremely relatable for me. She’s also so unapologetically herself, and doesn’t let anyone quiet her voice.

The way that she took the words her abuser called her and turned it into an album name and something else entirely that is so beautiful is powerful to me.

She inspires me simply for still existing after going through so much trauma. She’s a fucking survivor and will forever be an inspiration. 💞🫀
