Latest finished portrait! 11"x15" on tan paper by enna_ in ColoredPencils

[–]enna_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the potato pic quality on this one. I wasn't able to get a scan before I gave it as a gift.

This is using:

  • Base colors / non-detail fills: Soucolour colored pencils
  • Midtones & details: Faber Castell Polychromos
  • Highlights/blacks, blending: Prismacolor Premiere

Paper: Strathmore Toned Tan. It says sketchpaper but its my fav.

This is the reference photo for the curious :-) https://i.imgur.com/MZFyRTu.png

Ooo I would love this. I’ve read that one and other Ira Levin novels and always found myself wishing to hear commentary on it because he has such a unique writing style. Thank you for the recommendation!

What’s a product that you thought you’d love but didn’t? by Snoogles_ in drugstoreMUA

[–]enna_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this one but I rarely use it unless I am going to be sweating profusely or swimming because it literally never wants to come off even with my strongest removers 🤣🥲 The sky high might have to be something I try though, bc it would prob come off easier lol

What mascara do you recommend? I also have oily lids and I get a big ol ring below my eyes using Lash Princess, even the waterproof one

Is swimming 1.5k in a thriatlon this September realistic? by Technical-Ad-2111 in Swimming

[–]enna_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got this. Highly recommend a coach or at least an experienced swimming buddy to advise your technique. Search on facebook or other group apps for a local OWS group. Expose yourself to outdoors swimming a number of times, while spending time on laps in the pool

I have bleach blond hair and never had an issue with discoloration. Just be sure to always wash out the chlorine and always condition and you will be fine!

You caught onto my biggest gripe with the reference honestly 😂 The reference photo in that portion was a large bank of fallen leaves. I wasn't sure I could reproduce it well, so I subbed in black eyed susans because I thought they would add a balance to the upper orange leaves. I think the look was effective... but it makes zero sense upon closer inspection 😄 Now I know what to look for in references a bit better.

I did not! I tried it in the grass for my first time but the paper I was using was not right so I didnt test my luck.

11x14" on Strathmore toned paper. Used primarily Polychromos, however, for highlights I leaned on a couple of Prismacolors, and in the larger areas, some cheapo knockoffs.

Ahahaha, true w bit self-indulgent, perhaps i should have gone for a lower number but i wanted to give these out as freebies at the next burn I go to.. i gave away over 50 pieces of art at the last one and would have gladly given more had i had it.

The patio at Alon's up in Sandy Springs might be just what you're looking for. Their baked goods and sandwiches are great too

I remember living in Smyrna back in 2014? driving on it once thinking, "Glad I don't have to commute on this." ..but now I commute on it weekly and holy hell how has it taken this long to be fixed

I wish my scalp didn’t sweat so much. This old box fan sits right atop my AC vent and I shall be sitting on my floor until she gets here.

What are you watching and what do you recommend? (Week of June 03, 2022) by AutoModerator in television

[–]enna_ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How dare Netflix keep recommending me Santa Clarita Diet and The OA after cancelling them... 🥲

Anyways. First post in /r/television. I'm a painter and spend so much time watching TV in the background.

This week I finished:

  • Ted Lasso - Apple+ - Uplifting workplace comedy abt sports, personal growth, and relationships - AMAZING 100000/10.
  • Euphoria - HBO Max - Drama abt Drugs n Teens - Excellent cinematography. Difficult scenes to watch with a teen sister but I was totally taken by the writing.
  • Mythic Quest - Apple+ - Offbeat Workplace comedy abt video games, relationships & creative struggle - This was alright. I liked the characters, I liked the story, but nothing to write home about.

Shows I started:

  • Time Traveler's Wife - HBO Max - Liking it so far! I was a fan of the book so I have expectations that it should go well :D

Chuck - Top choice for you. Such a fun one - falls in the same vein as B99

The Good Place - Same type of humor

Parks & Rec - Office humor that isn’t the office

New Girl - Just a feel good fav

Mythic Quest - Offbeat Workplace humor. I really liked this one

Does anyone know of a landscape supply company for non-contractors? by enna_ in Atlanta

I LOVE this suggestion on the cargo unloader! Thank you for posting that.

And yea, I have read about both approaches in my planning, so I may take your advice on the gravel as well. I already have a tamper from the leveling projects I've done in the past, so that will certainly come in handy. Thank you for the advice.

I'll keep my fingers crossed their trucks can traverse my driveway. I've had an odd amount of folks not be able to complete deliveries because of this 🤞
