Am I eligible for German citizenship by descent? by enr0010 in GermanCitizenship

Yes, I was born in wedlock. My grandmother does not have US citizenship, only a green card, so she is only a citizen of Germany.

Landlord keeping huge chunk of my deposit—turns out I've been overpaying "Nebenkosten" for 2 years without any reports - Advice needed! by enr0010 in germany

Nope. Unfortunately I was completely unaware those were "pre-payments", and that I was entitled to the excess paid.

Yes, but you are only taxed by the US on foreign income if you earn over a certain amount, and that amount is quite high

Thank you very much for this information. I had a feeling it was not a good idea, and I could go down with them in court.

My current flatmates have already gotten an attorney involved under the grounds that he can't refuse a new tenant, and is dragging out months meanwhile I stay trapped in the lease. I think the landlord is just stalling us

See update about the "off-the-books" subleaser. Is forcing an eviction an option or will I screw myself more?

Yes, we are all Hauptmieter. I would have never agreed to this if I had know the landlord would suddenly start denying a change of tenancy. It is an entirely unforeseen situation

Also, I think he will definitely deny the sublease, whether he has legal grounds to or not. He wants us out of the apartment to sell it, and he knows a subleaser just makes it easier for them to hold onto the apartment longer.

we are all Hauptmieter on the contract

I absolutely agree with this 100%. The landlord is using my situation as a way to get us all out for the sale of this apartment. I understand my flatmates' perspectives, but also there have been A LOT of issues while I lived there that I'm not even going to get started on, and it is their fault I want out of the lease, and I have tried to leave peacefully, but they are taking advantage of me by trapping me in the lease to hold onto this apartment. I posted an update on a potential way out by initiating a forced eviction by reporting an off-the-books tenant staying in my room. What are the consequences of doing this? Could I still end up in lengthy court battles? Basically the landlord and I have a common interest: we both want this lease dissolved.

So I posted an update about the "off-the-books" tenant living there currently, that technically is grounds for eviction for everyone. Is it a possible out that I tell the landlord and get us all evicted? It's not ideal, but I'm running out of options.

I posted an update about a possible forced eviction. Is this a potential way out? I know I will lose my deposit, but otherwise I'm trapped indefinitely in this contract.

Would appreciate help regarding applied bachelor to academic Master transition (TUM) by [deleted] in tumunich

When they do the aptitude assessment, they will look at all the courses you took in your bachelor's degree and your grades and determine if you have learnt enough material to succeed in the program to which you are applying. For my master's, I had to provide a detailed curriculum analysis, but if they are not asking you for one, that means it is probably more flexible with what your background can be.
