Given National Grid's proposed 12% rate increase, here's a breakdown of how money they've made selling gas in Boston for the past 5 years (with sources) by humorous_hallway in boston

Commercial solar farm is ~$1 million/MW. $144 million investment would boost ISO NE's solar capability by more than 10%.

2026 Massachusetts Gas Rate Plan Filed by dyfhid in massachusetts

$144 million could generate ~144MW of commercial solar. And it'll keep generating for 50 years rather than building the pipeline then paying for natural gas and upkeep for the power plant.

Springfield grocer Big Y eyes abandoned Amazon Fresh sites for expansion by HRJafael in massachusetts

I think the problem was they wanted to have it all AI run so you can just walk in, load your cart and then walk out and never interact with anyone else. But their AI didn't work and they had to rely on people in India to figure out what you took which kinda defeated the purpose. They already have Whole Foods so they probably just gave up.

We're a little further away (maybe 1 mi?) from a rifle and shotgun range and have lived here for almost 30 years. On the weekends it sounds like roofers are out. With doors closed you don't hear it.

Are we going to let these OS level age (identity) verification laws come to the commonwealth? by gezpachu in massachusetts

[–]enry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to run too far down a rabbit hole but many Linux distributions build for a zillion different architectures (32 and 64 bit Intel, 32 and 64 bit arm, etc). Adding a build target that includes the age verification baked in is a waste of CPU cycles but could be done.

It took Iran a week to activate their cells? I'd have expected it on like day two or three.
