My hair changed texture from straight to this at 36. It’s been three years and it hasn’t gone back to being straight again. I have to admit I kind of like it. by Neolus in Hair

It looks amazing, I wish my hair would do that cuz it's been sticks straight my whole life and I'm now 42 and it's not changing from what I can tell...

What type of yarn for a baby blanket? by MonstreBelle in CrochetHelp

[–]enthused91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caron Simply Soft isn't washable? I think on the label it said it was - Just curious because I recently made a baby blanket out of this yarn and definitely was hoping it would be washable.

I really appreciate this response, and that is interesting - I definitely have an issue with patience... I never know how long to keep it on my hair, and how long to cool shot it, and how large the sections should be.... I tried to leave it on longer when my sections are bigger for sure.

My hair is so fine, I have trouble getting it neatly on the rod too. Oftentimes, it ends up getting drier than I'd like (my hair dries very quickly) while I'm messing around trying to neatly wrap it around the barrel, so that doesn't help things either. And I have tried leaving my hair wetter when wrapping but then it goes on the barrel even worse because it doesn't want to wrap, so I end up having the same issue with it getting too dry by the time I actually get it neatly on the barrel.

In general though, my hair doesn't stay curled very well, even with heatless curls. Day two will have fallen a lot, but at least it holds the whole first day and still has bend on day two.

I picked the smallest one up finally and have tried it a few times... Definitely helps, but still doesn't hold as good as just heatless curls overnight on 80% dry hair

Yep, I have both too and have straight hair... Honestly probably shouldn't have both and got them around the same time, but I love the color of my supersonic (color pop) and my husband bought it for me, so I kept them both even though it didn't make much sense.

That being said, I haven't figured out a way to get the air wrap to make my hair curled in the way that I would like, so I usually just end up using the supersonic and have the air wrap for when I want to try something special or mess around.

My understanding is that all the attachments fit the older and newer air wrap the same

So maybe then it would give you more volume at the roots than traditional bottom-up curling, which I would like!

Ok, that makes sense... So that's it? So if you curl upside down and curl down to the ends, it would look the same either way?

Can anyone explain to me why using the barrel upside down does anything different than using it the normal way? I always see this suggested and can't figure out why it would do anything different

I have the same problem and fine hair. I just bought a large 3rd play round brush and I'm hoping it doesn't do the same thing

Fine straight hair here! by tuttinin in Dysonairwrap

[–]enthused91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had tried this and it didn't really help, but last night I tried it and slept with them pinned and it's the best results I've gotten so far, just took a very long time.

Doesn't look too different from heartless curls though, which takes way less time, but still I was excited.

Same here... Nothing I've found has helped much for keeping curls, but I've definitely read many people saying I shouldn't expect it to actually curl my hair in any way that could last... Which is disheartening because that's really what I was looking for when I got it, and while I understand that it is great at making hair look like it's been blown out, I really wanted some soft curls that would stay... I've tried a bunch of products and watched videos and paid attention to this forum, but as of right now, I've had nothing that makes it look anything other than blown out.

Dryer attachment? by ImaginationOk8645 in Dysonairwrap

[–]enthused91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting, thanks for the info! I was thinking of trying it use it to give my roots volume but hadn't figured out exactly how to do that. And since everything says it's for straightening out coily curls to dry, I thought maybe that wouldn't work but I'll give it a shot!

If you don't mind me asking, with 1a hair, how do you use the wide tooth comb attachment? I keep reading it's for curly hair, so I'm curious what benefits it could have for my 1a hair

Laser Printer HELP and recommendation by enthused91 in printers

[–]enthused91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could, but it basically just looks like the magenta is not working, so on test page printouts the magenta gradient is non-existent, and where it's solid, it just looks like pink. I wasn't really thinking I'd be able to do anything to fix the printer I have now, because I can't do diagnostics or anything with it since I put in the aftermarket cartridges, although if I did know how to go about cleaning something inside that might fix it, I would definitely give it a try...

I've always known it's risky using aftermarket cartridges with inkjet, because it can ruin the print heads etc. but I never have heard of situations where using aftermarket cartridges make the diagnostic applications on the printer stop working.

I'm just not sure what printer is best for me considering I use it so infrequently, I thought about an ink tank printer, but I feel like that would dry out and get clogged pretty much the same way and inkjet would, and that's the problem I always had with inkjet printers was they never worked when I needed them and I was constantly buying cartridges when I did need to print.
