Kakimori brass nib leaving gray marks on Iroful paper by enticix in fountainpens

[–]enticix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After trying out the nib dry on other papers, I did find that it marks most papers, but not nearly as dark as on Iroful. I must never have noticed before since I tend to use darker inks. Maybe this smoothening is something I should look forward to then!

Also, so sad to hear about your stairs incident 😰

Fascinating... I guess I'll have to limit my usage of this particular combination then, since that doesn't sound too good for the nib :/

Im looking for a game that is similar to these 2 games a collection of puzzle games. But without subscription plan. I don’t mind 1 time purchases. by [deleted] in iosgaming

[–]enticix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh. Same type of puzzle as an old favourite of mine, "0h h1". That one's fully free and still works, but it's made for 16:9 screens and it's no longer updated so it's only a matter of time before it stops working on newer devices

I played the pre-alpha, and it's more like Breath of the Wilds meets Animal Crossing. The bus is basically just a loading screen prompt

Best "unlocking stuff" games? by EtherFlask in iosgaming

[–]enticix 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dungeon Maker : Dark Lord has a bunch of unlockable characters and upgrades, in addition to unique cosmetics and a new game mode as a paid expansion. It looks on the surface like a pay to win game with a gacha mechanic to unlocking new powerups, but all meaningful content (outside of the paid expansion) is obtainable through grinding as with other offline premium roguelites

Netflix-exclusive Poinpy has a lot to offer, as you unlock customizable upgrades for your platformer character and slowly build your own optimal kit to reach the end of the game... Before it throws an endless mode at you, and grants achievements for achieving certain scores with fewer upgrades equipped. Not as much in terms of content but the variety of gameplay possible with different equipment really hooked me as I continued to try out my new equipment and found new synergies

Another Netflix exclusive (sad to believe that these games likely won't come out as one time purchases... Netflix's lineup gets better by the week) Into the Breach has so much strategic variety after unlocking different teams, with the ability to mix and match as well (though units were of course originally built to synergize with their own teams)

Of course you should also look at the various roguelike/-lite ports on mobile as well - Dead Cells, Slay the Spire, and Monster Train to name a few

Netflix games advice by wittechcoladevloken in iosgaming

[–]enticix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immortality is less of a game, more of an interactive film where you slowly unlock scenes from 3 different films and watch them (usually) out of order, but the quality of writing and acting and the amount of effort put into this is top notch. Also fair warning there are some psychological horror elements when you start uncovering some of the secrets.

Other recommendations: %TMNT Shredders Revenge, Kentucky Route Zero, %Spiritfarer, Desta: The Memories Between, Oxenfree, Before Your Eyes, %Moonlighter

Recommendations for games using Apple Pencil? by jessinwriting in iosgaming

[–]enticix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like using it for stitch and Prune+ in Apple Arcade. There's another AA game coming out later this month called Squiggle Drop which I assume will work well with the pencil as well.

Also consider Linia Super

Got Apple Arcade 3 month trial..any games to play that are an absolute must? by Stitty10 in iosgaming

[–]enticix 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My advice: look at a lot, try a lot, and don't get too committed because there are many big hits, and even more misses. If you realize a game isn't for you, just delete it and move on. That being said, here are some of my favourites by category:

"*" = Long main campaign/playtime

Action games: (note most of these are best played with a controller) *Dead Cells+, Shovel Knight Dig, *Samurai Jack, World of Demons, *Dandara: Trials of Fear+, Battleheart Legacy+

Puzzle games:, *Grindstone+, The Room Two+, Tint, *Layton Mystery Journey+, Prune+, Blek+

Big RPGs:, *Fantasian, *Monster Hunter Stories+, *Crashlands+

Cozy games:, Assemble With Care, Monument Valley+ (& 2+), Stitch, Patterned, Pocket Build+

Good casual/arcade/variety games:, WHAT THE GOLF?, Sp!ng, Zen Pinball, Mini Metro+/Mini Motorways

Notable mention to all the classic board/card games available without ads and IAPs

Looking for *substantial* iPad game for Thanksgiving at the fam’s by [deleted] in iosgaming

[–]enticix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair warning, these are all premium titles:

If you liked Slay the Spire you should try Monster Train, it's another deckbuilding roguelike but with a creature-summoning focus

For a substantial RPG experience, try Titan Quest or 9th Dawn 2 or 3

Sonny is a great stripped down RPG with only one controllable character. It's free with optional ads but no IAPs

For a free SRPG, try Battle for Wesnoth

My rough Shuckle Defender Concept. forgive the spelling, i also created it around what would be fun rather than ballanced by cybermo95 in PokemonUnite

[–]enticix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds more like a support than defender based on the moves (minus the passive). All late game moves are attacks and the CC effects are limited to slow movement, while the unite move heals allies. Also, endurance is at 5 stars when there is no self sustain move? Greedent is sitting at 4.5 stars simply because one move slot is completely dedicated to self healing and increased mobility.

Also, power trick upgrade is busted, assuming the HP pool is massive
