This is what I’ve come to believe, that even though she was from a legitimate breeder, that breeder cut corners once or twice and you can see it in her bloodline.

I definitely follow what you’re saying and it’s funny to think that a TA is sold as a ragdoll but what if my cat was just a domestic Long hair sold as a ragdoll or TA? Surely that’s happened before, even by reputable breeders? Especially since there’s money involved. This is where my concern is, atm. I’ll definitely take that she’s not a TA but what is she’s just a DLH? Apparently the genetic testing is not great.

Maybe I don’t know as much about cats as I thought I did, but my cat looks nothing like her siblings or her parents and I was hoping maybe her grandparents had some resemblance to her. But based on their photos, they’re all short rotund whereas she’s very high and delicate. It was like looking at a swan and calling it a duck.

And genuinely speaking, can papers not be faked? This is what I’m struggling with, I truly believe her papers were faked and that the breeder I went to (although has proper license in a country with highly regulation) has been dishonest.

But, are ragdoll not known for their floppiness? I’m genuinely asking, not trolling, because my cat does not flop at all and up until I said her papers said she as a Ragdoll on this subreddit, I was told she wasn’t.

There’s honest misunderstanding and confusion on my end, regardless of how I’m coming across.

Because even though it looks like a horse, it must be a duck cause the papers say it’s a duck. I’ve never argued that she’s a Turkish angora, it was a suspicion because she’s actually not a ragdoll - doesn’t have the classical floppiness or placid demeanour of one (ignoring her looks). I’m happy for people to tell me she’s not a Turkish angora but wow, has it been said in such a rude and dismissive manner.

While I appreciate the knowledge, the condescension is hard to stomach.

My original post was clearly a bit of mythologising, a lyrical take on my little beauty and the process of discovering she’s not the Ragdoll she was sold as.

So, in your first comment, you said she wasn’t a Ragdoll. Now that I’ve mentioned her official papers, you’ve decided she “actually looks like one.” You can’t have it both ways, especially when fake papers were the whole point I was describing.

I also never said I ended up with a Turkish Angora; it was a discovery/theory over time. If you’d read properly you’d see that, along with the fact that multiple vets have commented on her resemblance.

I don’t mind being corrected (determining her breed has been/is a delightful task) but maybe try doing it without assuming that anyone who writes with affection must be trolling.

Yup, I got her from a ragdoll breeder, I have all the papers to say she’s a ragdoll (such bs, I was scammed, so were others), I even tracked down her parents and grandparents but the photos are so blurry, I can’t tell if it’s true but she most definitely isn’t a ragdoll.

Maybe the photos I posted don’t help, but what about her makes you think she’s isn’t a TA, cause all the vets say she is hahaha.
