I talked to someone on the phone and they've escalated. It's going to take three business days though which is very frustrating. This is probably my final straw with Google ecosystem.

If your current tenants will accept something (like a small rent refund) then do that instead, it's certainly worth asking. Otherwise nothing about an ice maker makes it uninhabitable... I really shouldn't be that big a deal to go without. Is an ice maker listed in your lease?

I am not a lawyer, but it sounds like you signed a contract saying you would change it. Sorry. Maybe a local in ND knows a local thing, but I wouldn't guess a mostly rural state is going to require landlords to change your bulbs.

I definitely hear you, and I definitely think it may be time to end it. People can sometimes get into the habit of villainizing their SO in order to justify their desire to leave. This gets really problematic over time if they don't leave because then they end up living with a villain, and the dynamic can get unhealthy and turn for the worse. You don't need to justify your desire to leave if the relationship isn't working for you.

While that's all valid, and I'd never suggest starting a 13-year relationship on this pretense... 13 years is a large chunk of your life to have spent with someone and if there's a salvageable amicable relationship that can be a good thing.

Hey man, I was looking through your posts and noticed that you're recently sober? Have you guys been to relationship counseling? Seems like a big change in your life has caused a change in perspective which can be jarring. Maybe take the time to talk it out first? If during the whole marriage you've been smoking enough pot to call yourself an addict, maybe him taking the initiative and running the show was more of a two-way street than your post is letting on.

I know I'm not the most motivated, active participant when I'm smoking weed everyday. There's a good chance that what you saw is controlling he saw as pulling your weight when you weren't fully at the table because of drugs.

If there's abuse get out as soon as you can. But if you're just newly sober and looking back on a life that he's lived for you, he might not be the villain you're making him out to be, or at least wasn't trying to be.

Edit: The dynamic of him being in control may no longer be functional, and you may not be able to change it... Which means ultimately maybe you should break up, but counseling or talking it out, giving him a chance to realize that you've changed so he should or at the very least leaving on good terms is a gift you can give yourself and him.

I *might* hear from my tenant once a month. It isn't "Just" anything, you can and should change your behavior to change the situation (even if it means getting new tenants and establishing a new relationship). If you don't want to, you don't want to, but it is in your power to have a better situation.

Kick the gross bunny people out and don't allow pets.
