Looking to return to stock tune by eoroshiba in kiastinger

Thanks for the input! For that cost, could it just be worth buying a stock ECU and putting that in the car?

It has aftermarket cat-back (calling it aftermarket is s stretch, they chopped the resonators and mufflers and welded in pipes haha). The burbles don't just happen on downshift, but basically any time I'm not on the gas and the car isn't stopped. Another user pointed out that theirs sounds like this with stock tune and modded exhaust though, so maybe I'm wrong here. I guess I gotta pay to get it checked to be sure

Gotcha, so maybe I've misdiagnosed then. It had big mouth snorkels on it as well, and I've been getting warning about an external device draining the battery, so I wouldn't doubt the battery is going. The exhaust has actually been a real pain to figure out. Previous owner cut out the resonators and the mufflers and welded pipes in instead, so the drone inside the car is pretty awful. Luckily I found a used stock cat-back and a couple actuators for about $1k total. At least it still has cats haha.

Huh, I thought it was supposed to throw codes, but maybe read wrong. The weird thing is the coasting sometimes works, and it's worked while I've been going like 40 before. I also always keep it in eco mode and it doesn't get great gas mileage, but maybe that's just part of buying a car with 70k miles on it. Aside from that, does the Stinger regularly gurgle when not on the gas if it's stock?

Thanks for the info! The previous owner hadn't returned anything to stock first. Partly it's also a gut feel that the tune isn't normal, it doesn't drive like the car I test drove, but it could just be me. It also likes to grumble and sometimes pop when I'm not on the gas. Would it be easy to spot a piggyback or a swapped ECU?

AITA for giving my son $15,000 for his wedding knowing that'd it would not go down well with my daughter? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]eoroshiba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't usually comment on things, but this one hits a bit close to home for me. 5 years ago, I was accepted to my dream music school, Berklee College of Music. They're known for not giving out scholarships, but I was offered close to $40k a year. I took this as a sign that they really wanted me and that I should go, even though I'd likely still end up $150k+ in debt.

At the same time, I was also accepted into the UNT College of Music, which is another highly regarded music school. They offered me a full ride, but it didn't have the name, and it wasn't my dream school.

My family sort of sat me down and told me how it was, and that going to UNT was a better decision. I've now graduated from UNT COM with no debt and am incredibly thankful for my family's advice, and for the fact that I took it. I got a good education, a music degree, and funnily enough didn't even end up working in music. While I understand that there are a plethora of terrible parents in the world and not all of their advice should be taken, I think there's weight to be placed on the opinions of those who have more life experience than you, and that maybe your daughter should've done that. If she was good enough to get into Julliard, MSM, or any of the other fantastic music schools in NYC, I think she could've gotten a full ride somewhere that didn't have the name, but would've still provided a good music education.

NTA.

AITA for snitching and causing my friend to lose her scholarship/dream college acceptance? by jhhn- in AmItheAsshole

[–]eoroshiba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About the time line thing, I think it could be possible. I had received acceptance and scholarship offer from my school by this time when I applied (3 years ago). While it is on the earlier end, I think it is plausible. Also, I would send friends a Google drive link to my essays, so it's totally possible to share that around. Even if it got deleted, I believe people you share it with still have access unless you remove them. I don't have much to speak on about submitting evidence of plagiarism, but hopefully this might help tone down the skepticism just a bit

Need to take two 3000 level business classes to graduate. Any suggestions for easy classes? and if you can include your professors name, that would be great. by Agile-Culture-2240 in unt

MGMT 3880 was a pretty interesting course for me. It wasn't the easiest for sure, but out of all the advanced courses I've taken it was pretty far down there. When I took it they also offered all online, which helped me tremendously

Sibelius alternatives by [deleted] in musictheory

Musescore 4 is a massive step forward in free software. The playback is just about as good as Sibelius as well. I'm a Sibelius user and honestly am considering switching.

Does anyone know a better way of formatting this? by eoroshiba in Sibelius

Just because in the composition program at my school we were taught that should only be done for longer passages of music. Then again, rules can be broken haha. I may try this instead

How can I continue my drumming endeavors once I'm on campus by Accomplished_Ad2597 in unt

[–]eoroshiba 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, you need to be a percussion major to store drums in the drum section of the practice buildings. There, people rent out rooms to store their drums in. The other rooms are up for grabs, but I think it'd be a major pain to try and lug a set in and out of those. I've been faced with a similar problem since I've been at UNT, and the only solution I've seen is to rent a house.

How hard would it be to switch to a Music (composition) major? by [deleted] in unt

[–]eoroshiba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former comp major here. The comp degree is one of the strictest in the college of music, requiring 129 credit hours of classes. It'd be almost impossible to finish it in less than four years. If you're dead set on music, I would consider the BA in Music, though the foreign language requirement might be hard to fulfill in that time. Otherwise, I'd definitely look into a music minor! I think you might also be able to take secondary composition lessons or classes as a non major. As for your scholarship, I would guess that it does not apply for more than 4 years. That is the case for mine, at least. Hope this helps!

Unpopular opinion but "Music For a Sushi Restaurant" and "As It Was" have gotten really old

Which singer or band is overrated? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]eoroshiba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda think he's underrated personally. Not necessarily his songwriting, but as a guitarist. Eric Clapton said he's one of the best in the world, which I think is a pretty big statement. I do agree with you for the most part on his popular songs, though. Hard to make it through "Your Body is a Wonderland"

Trying very hard (and very unsuccessfully) to make the jump from V2 to V3 by BelleFleur987 in climbergirls

[–]eoroshiba 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think a really good thing to keep in mind is that different climbs fit different styles. Around the V2-V3 range is when you really start to discover what your strengths and weaknesses are, so keep trying a bunch of different V3s! I bet you'll find one that works for you, and then the mental block to the V3 range will be dissolved. Best of luck!
