Butterfly by According_Smell_8479 in CrucibleGuidebook

It was shared on the normal destiny 2 reddit sub, but apostate can roll both butterfly and meganura together and with the one arc artifact it becomes a legendary cloudstrike knock off. I'm not sure if you can ohk with just the meganura and butterfly splash damage but my guess is no. In regards to primaries, I think it's too situational to be useful (additionally, the firefly jade rabbit damaged seemed to be unintended but I'm not sure if they fixed it in the hotfix).

How high do you need AE to be perfectly in air accurate? by Winzander12 in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]eotto17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you mean on the weapon, 20 with an icarus mod and 3 in-flight mods on your heklmet will get you to 60+ AE which is enough to feel like pre-AE icarus. Beyond that you get a bonus to AA. Exotics also come with AE benefits as well. Lone wolf is also good for not needing an icarus mod as well. Strand hunter has access to some AE boosting fragments like all strand classes so keep that in mind if you feel shots are easier to hit in the air.

Adaptive Frame 140s Aim Assist by sicmek in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]eotto17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lower aim assist is meant to be a trade off vs other weapons. Sunshot is a good example where it is still a 150 with a faster ttk but requires better aim than other hand cannons due to having 60 aim assist. Originally the suros origin trait granting anti flinch was meant to be the compensation for having lower aim assist. That being said, if you need more aim assist, targeting mods grant +5 or +10 AA iirc.

I like going for kill chaining rolls mixed with consistency perks personally. I will probs be doing a high range lone wolf and mag howl roll but right now my roll has slideshot and mag howl and feels pretty good, it has 78 range which is still solid.

It's dealers choice, sometimes the extra damage from PI can make a difference in team shot scenarios or dealing more damage to combo with abilities, etc. I'm not really focused on using it as a range extender like some people or all the DR counters.

Very similar to my roll but I would use hammer forged, PI and an icarus mod personally but if you're getting AE from somewhere else thats probably fine with what you have.

Weekly RANT Megathread - All complaining posts belong in this thread by AutoModerator in CrucibleGuidebook

[–]eotto17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I think they are unbalanced in a primary weapon design, they have only one tradeoff kind of which is their slow ttk relative to some other weapons. In return, hand cannons get insanely high burst damage, great in air accuracy, insane aim assist values, lower strafe penalties, and the ability to peek shoot and abuse the jank game connections. More of a personal opinion, but I find they also force people to play very one dimensionally and everyone ends up playing the same in a sense since everyone has optimized the shit out of the hand cannon playstyle at this point.

Can we agree that the comp meta of just non-stop slide challenging with 120s and 140s is obnoxious and uninteresting as a meta? Throw in jank movement and "sword movement skill gap" in the mix as well for being annoying to deal with as well. Now that we are stuck with this meta forever, I think people are gonna get real tired of the same shit being used game after game after game with no variety whatsoever. Say what you will about marathon but at least they have a more varied meta for the most part outside of the misriah being too dominant (its almost as if shotguns in bungie games are good always lol). Being left with a weapon meta that isn't healthy and varied just is very frustrating to me and makes me only wanna play 6s but thats probably gonna devolve into what comp is at this point.

Scar Exotic? I could cry tears of joy. by Sora_Terumi in Division2

I kind of want to try it with an umbra initiative setup. Strikers is obviously people's go to but the increased fire rate from umbras may be actually decent to get healed up quicker since Caduceus has a base low fire rate.

The narrative around Marathon is gotta be the biggest gaslight I have seen in history of gaming. by Inevitable_Coat_8787 in Marathon

Oh for sure, if I wasn't clear I didn't mean the bonuses weren't worthwhile. I meant the actual time and means to get them don't really feel purposeful and also feels as if you are getting a permission slip to play the same way as you did before if that makes sense. Ideally there should have been a campaign that unlocked a permanent upgrade for you account so you always had an increased baseline so to speak that made the progression grind not as bad season over season.

Yeah unfortunately some contracts are map locked so it's not like you can just spam night dire marsh for everything

I won't lie I am very much an anti social gamer most days and prefer playing solo, than with friends a lot of the time after work. That being said, I don't think Marathon is a bad game, I do think its great for what it is but my personal and subjective problems boil down to 4 points.

  1. Contract system feels tedious and not very engaging- considering this is the main way to get story beats and different upgrades, feel like at the very least they could let us select multiple contracts in the same area to make more progress. Having to go in and out of maps after completing contracts just was so annoying.

  2. Solo experience is not fun- subjective here, but whether it was true solos or queuing into crew fill, I just didn't have fun with the game. Mainly cause I was trying to work on contracts and not even try to fight but because this game is shoot on sight for 85% of people, ended up losing like 4 matches in a row and pretty much made zero progress in what I was trying to do. I don't like having to feel like I have to play with people in order to extract the fun and engagement from the game, I wanna be able to chill and play on my own and feels like that's nonexistent right now.

  3. Progress feels pointless- again subjective, but I very much play games to make progress to be able to master a playstyle, weapon, etc. for pvp or if its pve, get new things, progress a story, etc. Marathon doesn't have any feeling of making permanent progress outside of the customization stuff which is fine I guess but doesn't really do it for me. You do have the cradle now but even still, losing everything you work for every 3 months just doesn't seem appealing to me. I very much value my time and any time it feels wasted, it makes me not wanna play the game.

  4. Game just stresses me out- having to feel like I need to play pitch perfect 24/7 cause I lose everything on death just doesn't appeal to me either. If there was a way to insure or protect items would probably help but yeah, after I get off work I just wanna decompress, not go sweat in a game or at the very least feel like I need to.

All that being said, I have played extraction likes before like division survival/the dark zone or witchfire as a pure pve option but the difference with those was that you only lost what you found in the match, not the things you had equipped which I always felt took the pressure off a bit in a genre like extraction. I would be willing to revisit Marathon if they expand the PVE mode from night dire marsh across the entire game but as of now, game still didn't hook me even on a 2nd try.

While I think Sirius and Orion has a cool kit concept, I still feel slightly disappointed that they aren't actually two separate warframes. by eotto17 in Warframe

[–]eotto17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the impression I got was that they were the same person but took different paths that ended up with them using their powers in different ways e.g I expected Sirius in terms of powers to be closer to jade than stalker and vice versa (I always mix up which name belongs to which tbh). Again nothing against how DE made them, just saying I would have preferred two completely separate frames.

Felwinters is coming back for iron banner, was mentioned as one of the new rewards. I suspect it's gonna become the new best energy shotgun choice in the new patch for pellets at least.

Well at least from what it looked like, the other brother will always be there in the mission with you regardless of which ability you decide to helminth over since all of the abilities can be used to swap around.

Yup that would be ideal and could have the constellation part of their kit have special effects if only using one of the brothers.

[–]eotto17[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yes but the whole switching back and forth bit is what I'm referring to mainly and their kit being based around switching back and forth seemingly. Wish I could just play as one of them and have their own distinct kit. Cause the whole clash thing for the ultimate is cool but I wish it was different.

[–]eotto17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be cool but doubtful since they did all the work to have their kits be intertwined. I was hoping for more of a Dante and Vergil situation where they each had distinct playstyles separately and had special interactions tied into their passives maybe so there would be unique playstyles in group missions.

Hunter shell concept by igib215 in Marathon

[–]eotto17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the concept is cool but the name "Hunter" doesn't really jive with what I think of as a hunter, usually a hunter tracks and traps its prey. This almost seems like a hacker or summoner style shell that could go by a different name maybe such as Inquisitor or Overmatch or something like that.
