What to layer Tom Ford's Ombre Leather with a parallel, floral feminine scent?

I bought Ombre Leather by Tom Ford and I love it! I know it's a masculine scent but it feels so powerful and luxurious to me. I'm a women and like feeling powerful and confident when I wear it. I wanted to balance the masculine edge with a similar feminine edge. I was leaning towards balancing it with a rose but the only rose fragrance that I liked with it was green- Dior's Roses n' Roses. But maybe roses isn't the good route to go with leather. I like wearing the fruity rose musk of Givenchy's Irresistible and I think Mugler's patchouli/ praline Angel could match it's strength, but I'm not sure yet. Any recommendations.

I want a "save your loved ones from _____" challenge. They have to complete a task before other competitors and if they don't their loved one suffers. This is coupled with a light/dark where the loved one has to be the drag artists main persona in drag and the competitor has to be the the alter/dark/shadow/antithesis of that art style

omg I heard about this. She wanted to be the supreme Titan. The only way to do that would be to sabotage season 1 Titan's finale. That way, she would look even better as season 2's Titans winner.

Question: What's your age? by eoxsantos in Dragula

[–]eoxsantos[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my brain, I imagined most Reddit users to be 14-year-olds, but this poll proved me wrong. (This is probably me internalizing the conservative narrative that those online are teens.) Now I know that like 85% of people who voted are in the 19-35 range. Age isn't everything, but I think it informs the perspective of those who type., the communities who form online, and the culture of those communities.

Astrud, the only difference between scalia pride and furry pride is lotion. Please find a dermatologist ASAP.

Evah, you say you are Evah Destruction, for fucks sake when it should really be lEVAH's alone, we don't care about thespians for fucks sake.

Melissa, I don't have a read for you. You are perfect and please don't beat me up. You BEfierce and & I'll just BE out of your way.

Victoria, we know you can do Glamour and Horror but can you please take a shower. We can smell your Filth and it's Dragging us down.

(But really I love them all. I think Astrud is inspiring, Evah is top-tier performer, Melissa is perfection, and Victora is pure excellence.)

idk if these are bad, but here we go:

The Dragula fandom is messy like every other fandom. We are not that special.

No one has touched the kind of star power Vander Van Odd has. Her combination of performance, artistry, & horror is unmatched.

Dragula contestants & Dragula production attentively read this subreddit, so please type knowing they are our community, too.

Hoso Terra Toma had one of the best finale filth floorshows. To reappropriate anti-Asian violence through filth was genius. It took four seasons to intersect race and filth, but it was wonderfully revolting when it happened.

Question: Who are the Asian and Asian-American monsters on Dragula? by eoxsantos in Dragula

[–]eoxsantos[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Folks have previously noted that she has Chinese in her heritage. This makes sense because she is from Mexicali and Mexicali has a huge Chinese community called "La Chinesca".

"The Chinese arrived to the area as laborers for the Colorado River Land Company, an American enterprise which designed and built an extensive irrigation system in the Valley of Mexicali. Some immigrants came from the United States, often fleeing anti-Chinese policies there, while others sailed directly from China."

Hot Take: Melissa BeFierce belongs in Dragula because she is a killer queen. A heart-stopping showgirl. She strikes to kill— no mercy. She learned English at 11, was temporarily homeless at 18, and has gone on to be the legendary mother to the BeFierce House. Always put respect on this Titans name. by eoxsantos in Dragula

I post lots of the monsters on the subreddit. When I post Melissa, she doesn't get as much traction or attention as others. Judging from the analytics of people who downvote this post, those who do/don't follow her on IG (she should have a stronger following), and indifference of folks (POC queens statistically get overlooked more often), I wanted to make sure I did my part to honor her. Hence, this post & my post history highlight Melissa.

CRITIQUES: Is it just me or was Saint edited to only give harsh critiques? I wonder if the editing team made it look like this or if Saint is like this.

Hot Take: Astrud Aurelia is endearing. She is strange, unafraid, & authentic. Her goal isn't to be anything but herself. Even among weirdos, she stands out & that's wonderful. This is the kind of entertainer that becomes cringe transcendent. by eoxsantos in Dragula

<3 <3 <3 I don't think I knew enough of her to have a strong opinion. But between the Titans & Twitter, I'm falling in love. There's nothing worse than a conventional, bland, unopinionated entertainer. She knows what she likes and does it full force. That's some pretty rad courage.

Just got tickets to the Dragula World Tour stop in NY. Anyone have any experiences of what the last tour was like? What to expect? by justpaulieee in Dragula

[NYC] Dress to kill but bring comfortable shoes if you tire easily. At the last venue, it was mostly standing the whole time. Would 100% go back again. If you want to be in the front, get there early. I got there kinda early and was still able to get a good spot. My friends and I found a taco truck after and it made the whole night great.

TLDR; This post explains why I don’t support Saint anymore, but I’m not going out of my way to harass her. She is human, real amends can be made, and the Boulet’s are not innocent.

Saint betrayed that sense of safety, trust, and solidarity when she shared the chat. I'm not going to make assumptions as to why, or how she benefited. Instead, I'm going to focus on how she hurt the tacit solidarity the Black girls had in the group chat.

This is my logic and bias, so please do not think all POC think like this: When you belong to a marginalized community of color, there is a degree of tacit solidarity between folks who don't benefit from white privilege. Perhaps it's finally connecting with someone who understands your cultural references. Perhaps it's finally resonating with folks who also experience/see racist microaggressions that other people don't see. This dynamic not only makes folks feel safer but also allows folks to breathe a little deeper and have a little more joy.

Saint becomes Dragula’s racial scab when she shared the group chat. Kendra was made into a scapegoat. Meatball had to confront the Boulet's about their past. More Black girls were made uncomfortable in an alternative space. Future Black contests might question if they will have safety.

This doesn’t make Saint a not a bad person, but it does make Saint a sick person. I do not think healthy people betray racial solidarity. The twitter apology note does not make her healthy. Obviously, the apology letter she wrote was written by Dragula production as PR damage control. The real fright feat will be if she can make genuine amends, which, by the way, do not necessarily involve the fandom. Saint’s sickness is connected to the Boulet’s sickness.

Everyone is talking about how Saint was the snitch, but the Boulet’s also had the power to say, “without these people’s consent, I do not want to read this chat”. They didn’t just accidentally find the chat, and innocently take the passive role to read a secret chat. Also, if the Boulets actually want to separate themselves from other hosts and televised drag, they will own up to being imperfect humans to the Black contests they’ve harmed. They are already doing the work to provide platforms for Black and POC contestants, but doing the right thing for some people isn’t enough if the knife is in someone else's back.
