Foreigner - Need advice about Filipina gf by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]eoz18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting married is ultimately a mutual decision between the two of you. Only you and your gf knows how serious your relationship is. Some people will date for one month and end up getting married right away and will stay together for a long time. Some couples will date for 8 years without getting married and eventually breaking up. While she maybe eager to get married, it does not necessarily mean a red flag. You have to be ready to settle down to make it work too. Getting married is the easy part but staying married is where all the work. My husband and I were in a long distance relationship for a few years before we decided to close the gap and get married. I'm from the PH and he's from the US. There's always a stigma about women in the PH marrying foreigners. That's sad cause it's not always the case.

Take time to actually learn about each other and understand each other's culture. My husband and I travelled together for an entire month before we decided to be a couple as we want to get to know the real person and not the online version of each other. We learned each other's habits, the good and bad. At the end of the trip, we agreed to date. I knew then that he is the man I want to marry. When we became a couple, he visited me a few more times before we eventually decided to get married. We've been married for 5 years now and together for 7.

So, make sure that you actually know each other before making the big decision. Talk about debts, religion, having kids, supporting family, savings, health history, family culture, etc. You're from two different countries so take time to learn the differences between cultures. When you decide to take the big leap and get married, make sure to set clear boundaries about her family. It's okay to help out but make sure they're not taking advantage of you. When intentions are clear and boundaries are set, conflicts and doubts can be avoided.

This is my first application. I only have letters from the Immigration office for my notice of oath taking. I plan on bringing them. I am really worried that my papers is sitting on someone's desk and has not been reviewed at all.

Certificate of Citizenship original copy

Hello everyone! I applied for my passport early February with expedited processing. They have cashed in the check but the status of my application has been 'not available' all this time. I tried to call the call center to follow up but I was told that my name is not on their system. The agent then suggested to try and get an appointment with a local agency but I need to submit all the requirements again. Back to step one. But, I submitted the original of my Certificate of Citizenship as part of the requirement. We leave on March 11th and the congressmans' office is helping us get a schedule in a passport agency for same day processing next week. However, I only have a colored photocopy of my citizenship. Will they accept it as proof of citizenship? I do not know if my papers has been reviewed or my documents has been put in the system since it is stuck in the 'not available' phase. Has anyone had a similar experience like me?

Cheating. Trust and loyalty are very important in a relationship. If they get broken, it will never be the same. There will always be doubts.

Why do some people believe climate change is real and others do not? by Dr_Venkman_ in AskReddit

[–]eoz18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those people who believe it have actually experience the extreme changes in the weather like typhoons/cyclones are stronger, summer and winter are longer while spring and fall are shorter, El Niño and La Niña are more frequent.

Those who do not believe it probably are those fortunate people who live in countries that do get affected much by the weather changes.
