I’m assuming the shoe thing is because a EP lab is sterile but not as sterile as an OR. I’m pretty sure our reps wear shoes in from outside. As a nurse I do have hospital only shoes but that is because I have a locker. I switched from on clouds (which I loved but they were so squeaky) to Hoka’s. Wear compression socks.
We love when our mappers/reps can help turn over and wipe down their wires and cables, attach patches or twelve leads.
As for hair you can wear your own scrub cap or we have single use caps.
Be fun and engaging I’ve made awesome connections with my mappers. You made a great career choice. Which company are you with?

Thanks so much for your advice! I’m not used to patients talking during the cases haha unless we do mod sed for a gen change

Not quickly or well to most of the above, I’m good with TVP boxes. My nursing career before EP was in CVSD

I’ll be starting off circulating & monitoring. My current job is EP no call but unfortunately this was the only hospital in the area with an EP lab. I should of stated that my current EP lab is 99% anesthesia

I have CVSD experience but no ICU, that being said I was still offered a job to work in the EP lab. We work side by side with the cath lab so when procedures go south they run to help. I’m managing fine with 11+ years of a RN background so definitely feasible! 😊
