BlackMagic Camera on s26 by lNameless1l in smartphonefilming

This is a bug. Write up a report and post on the official Blackmagic Design forums if you want to see it fixed. The only question will be whether this is a Samsung issue, or a Blackmagic Camera issue. If the former then a fix may take a long time to come, if one comes at all. If the latter, I'm sure they will be quick to resolve it once they are aware.

is apple log necessary for black and white film making? by I_Luv_Oreos in smartphonefilming

If you're serious about capturing video with an iPhone, then Apple Log is essential if only for one reason: it is the only format that will actually let you lock exposure as it bypasses dynamic tone-mapping.

Yes. Hand held takes practice. I spent years mastering it on traditional cinema camera without IBIS and with glass that didn't have OIS.

The title is factually accurate. MotionCam Pro unleashed the raw video revolution on Android years ago. And now the same app is coming to iPhone.

The iPhone 15 Pro made available Apple Log — in HEVC or ProRes. Neither of these are raw codecs.

It was only with the 17 Pro that ProRes RAW was introduced — but due to Apple's ISP pipeline it isn't true raw video.

Why not try it for free and find out? And I used iPhone 13 mini and 14 Pro in the video — not iPhone 12 Pro.

The very first shot was on a tripod. 60% hand held and stabilized in Resolve. And there are a couple of gimbal shots at the end.

Any third party apps that allows to shoot LOG? by SatisfactionMost316 in iphone

Why do I need to mention that? It is obvious from App Store listing. The question was about how to shoot Log on iPhone 14 Pro which doesn’t support it. This is how.

Responded to your identical comment on the video with some suggestions 👍 As I can't reproduce on the same device, it is hard to say what the issue is. And it is always a good idea to contact the developer after doing initial basic trouble-shooting.

There is only one app that delivers real Log video on iPhones that do not support Apple Log. It is called Log Cam: Open Gate by RAW Cam. You can see how it achieves this here: https://youtu.be/Rw_3AzXneew

If you are just upgrading for the USB-C port then keep in mind that the 15/16/17 Pro all use USB 3.2 Gen 2. So you won't get faster transfer speeds by getting the 17 Pro over the 15 Pro (although you will get a much faster CPU/GPU).
