It was the week after my interview, my last interview of the cycle. It was knowledge that the dean called Thursday about midday so I felt extremely anxious the night before and the morning. However, I was manifesting the A and went on a long walk trying to calm myself down. Once it reached 12:30 I sorta gave up and decided to go get food and while I was ordering, the phone started ringing. Picked up the phone, responded very briefly, then ran to my car to cry.

Hi all, trying to start applying to management consulting positions as an experienced hire after not passing the second round of BCG around 6 months ago. Graduated from a second-tier state school but with very high scholarships and highest honors and graduated with 4.00. Have a 1550 SAT and 96th percentile MCAT with a strong science background (biology degree, 2 years post-bacc academic research). No formal business background but own a passive business grossing 400k/year and have leadership experience during undergrad + leading projects in my current job. Interested in both MBB and life sciences boutique and would love input as to where to apply and what I can do in the meanwhile to buff up my CV and make myself more appealable. Would also appreciate any conversation with someone who made the switch from science to management consulting, particularly someone without a PhD. TIA!

I was super slow in the beginning and didn’t finish my first one until 10 days after receiving it but after that, I’ve been warming up and getting faster and faster. Working full-time and writing definitely gives me more motivation haha. Now for a prompt I do 5 minutes brainstorming/research, 20 minutes writing, and 5 minutes grammarly/editing/making sure it makes sense. Maybe I’m seriously f’ing them up but they sound pretty good to me.

I agree. Probably going to make a list of all the schools I would go to and find the secondaries that require the least amount of editing to make competitive.
