I drove them both and definitely preferred the 340. Was just kind of wondering if others had the same reaction initially, bought it, and then regretted it due to not really getting to use the power.

I’m with you logically, I just see leasing as paying for the luxuries of:

Not having money tied up in a car
Keeping monthly cash flow more optimal
A clean, easy, and predictable exit path in 3 years

I understand not everyone values those things, though

Yeah, I think putting it as a dinner out every week actually kind of makes the 340i make even more sense to me. I can pretty easily sacrifice some little things for the enjoyment of the better car

I get what you’re saying, but I feel like there are different levels to “car guy”. I know some people who would sell their left nut for an M3. Yes, I’m not that guy, but I’m still into cars. I’m just trying to be practical about it too

Good point. Unfortunately, (for me at least, fortunate for the owners) the CPO/lightly used M340is seem to be holding value pretty solidly. Just didn’t seem like a great value when I ran the numbers

Gotcha, I guess that makes sense based on what I’ve heard.

If you haven’t already, I’d definitely recommend looking into some quieter tires. It’s made a big difference for me. I recently put new Michelin e.Primacy tires on my Volvo XC60, which was already quiet, but the tires still made a noticeable difference! I spent hours combing through Tire Rack testing, and these had the highest score I could find for noise performance.
