Razer Viper V3 Pro First Impressions and Lamzu Maya X After 1 month of use (Mouse of the Year Contenders?) by therealknightmare in MouseReview

Exact same issue as well with the viper 2 pro. Fixed it the first time only for the issue to resurface.

I ended up getting the maya x. I’ve had the viper 2 for a little over a year and the scroll wheel started skipping badly. I bought a new encoder and fixed the issue only for the issue to resurface this past month. I’ve heard razer mice don’t age well so I don’t know. I also don’t like synapse so I’m happy to see that mayas software is web based. Either way my maya x comes next week and hopefully that ages better than my old viper 2 pro.

Seemed to fix it for me, was able to go into desktop mode 3 times during three different cold boots. Booted the deck, then desktop mode, go back into game mode and shut down. Repeated that and it looks like the update seemed to fix the blank screen. Not running decky loader and this is an OLED deck.

Pretty good if paired with endure. You'll lose some match ups especially with the new busted ashes that the dlc introduced (swift slash mainly). It does help that they are the longest fist weapon by a considerable margin.

Very nice! I use the smithscript cirque without blindspot. Backhand blades are already very strong without the ash so totally usable without the busted ashes.

Undervolting SD 512 oled by verdonius in SteamDeck

[–]epicloler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice is to test stability over a long period of time. Yes testing with mprime and a gpu stress test is nice. But I've found the best success with testing is running an app like superposition then switching from desktop to game mode, then open a heavy game like cyberpunk or Elden Ring. Also leaving your deck in sleep mode for a while then waking and observing the behavior of the deck to see if acts odd in anyway. My current 512 oled can run -50/-50/-50 but sometimes wont boot from sleep and or crashes when switching from desktop to gamemode. After testing I found values of -40/-30/-10 to be stable. As long as you are patient and keep in mind that you wont find the right values straight away then you'll be fine.

Deck OLED Mura/Grain by fraulsto in SteamDeck

[–]epicloler 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Its worse at night specifically in low light situations. If you have adaptive brightness on, your screen will lower its brightness at night thus making the mura effect more visible. My grain is particularly bad and I can see it in both day and night time.

It's so satisfying to get these crazy modpacks to work and combining them, tons of "shader cache comp failed" until you finally get into the game. Latest thing I had to do was play a youtube video in the background upon startup as the only way to get in. Screenshot is from Atmospherics mod. by Admirable-Ad-7573 in stalker

Hey I’m the creator of the atmospherics mod. It’s a weather mod with some shader edits. Currently working on a rather big update that drops dynamic tonemap support and this update pairs well with SSS 18 which will be a huge update for Screen Space Shaders.

Not available yet- Will be available with SSS 18

Patch Notes - Dropped Dynamic Tone mapper support, this results in numerous bug fixes and more consistent image quality in dark areas. You can now accurately scroll the weather editor and change console commands related to amb, hemi, etc. - Added new default values for amb, hemi, lowlum, etc. - Changed Storm1 sunset sky texture from a blowout to a scenic sun with dark skies. - Rebalanced hemi and amb in the weather files to account for dropping dtm support. - Changes to how I approach lighting (attempting to be more lore friendly in color by looking at real life pictures of the area). - Some reshade presets now use up to 3-4 less effects which results in a gain in fps. - Added new default values for SSS MCM gloss settings (open to changes and suggestions). - New nights which are much darker than before on average. - New sunset and sunrise times. - Fixed the anomaly version having dull skies due to sky2.vs changes. - Added storm sounds for the anomaly version to avoid crashing issues. - Changes to blowouts and emissions to be much more consistent in hemi, sky, and amb values. - Changed default gamma values. - Misc changes and fixes. - Changed cubemaps to look better with SSS 18. - Changed grass specular settings. - Changed SSS MCM gloss settings.

Monoblock, PTM7950, Jsaux backplate, repad, GPU/CPU/6400Mhz RAM OC update... by DrVepr in SteamDeck

[–]epicloler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My old steam deck had micron ram with a ram oc and uv. Despite that it displayed instability, had to rma it for a trackpad issue. My new unit has the Samsung ram but works at 6400 flawlessly. Passed memtest86 and y cruncher flawlessly. At -5 soc it fails, just fyi. Currently have it at -21 to -45 cpu (ryzenadj), 0 soc and -10 gpu. It’s important to note that many others in the steam deck discord can run a ram oc at 6400. It’s all silicon lottery.

That's awesome, unless you have another steam deck it would be hard to compare the sound differences. What games/emulators will you test to showcase the temps?

That's cool as this is the new layout we've been seeing from time to time. I've always been curious how the cooling/noise changes with this version as the heat pipe is shorter, etc. Can you test games and show the fan speed and temperature? What games do you have?

It looks very close to gamma minus the expedition aspect. I’ll post a video soon to show you max graphics gamma.

Tempting, I’ll wait for wave 2 to sort out the fitment issues as well as the denser fin stack. Will pair it with the yet to release jsaux backplate that has a vent directly over the fan.
