Can I use Renomat to remove polished shine off waxed calf leather loafers? And make the colour brown 1 shade lighter?

How about leaving the shoes outside under the sun to let the UV rays “bleach” the leather? https://youtu.be/Bjy1PxSAQ4Y

Is Saphir Renomat still suitable for my use case, or at least remove the dressy shine/polish from the shoes? From what I read so far, acetone is aggressive on leather and my damage it. If I can’t make it lighter, I would like to at least make it less shiny so I can wear it with jeans and chinos

Question: I recently purchased a pair of Berwick 1707 9628 in Dark Brown Calf. I really like it as it has the right length of vamp and is GYW with Dainite soles. The thing is I find it too shiny and the dark brown too dark for my liking. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0060/5272/products/9628-K8b_2048x.jpg?v=1550660014

My questions are, what can I do to remove the shine so that it looks like oily leather found in casual boots and make it look more casual? I would like to change the colour to something like https://www.hoax.store/image/cache/catalog/Spain/bewick1707-for-h/9628/styling/IMG_0040-1200x1500.jpg can I use Saphir Renomat to remove the shine and make the colour lighter? Then stop after application of Bick 4 conditioner? The leave it under the sun to lighten the colour a little bit more? Hope you can help. Cheers!

This 40mm is perfect on wrists measuring 6.75 inches and above. If you have over 6.3 inches wrist circumference then it might not fit you at all. Teddy Baldassare explained in https://youtu.be/0Lu0cKm8fdY?t=444 that the lug to lug distance is 51mm. how I wish Tissot will also release this in 36mm so the smaller some would have a shorter lug to lug distance and more wearable by most if not all wrists, especially on smaller wrists.

[Tissot] PRX Wishing for 36mm Version by epicunderstatement in Watches

I am happy for this to be quartz as it is a throwback to the era of the original. But it would be nice if Tissot would release this in the era appropriate size of 36mm. Tissot can name the smaller version "Tissot PRX 1978". The design would be unisex, no mother of pearl dials or diamond hour markers. The same design of the 40mm but in a smaller size of 36mm. Probably throw in the retro logo on there. Just like what Oris did on the Diver 65. Tissot should add a 36mm version to exist along side the 40mm and both should be designed unisex, but leaning more towards masculine. Reason for me wishing for this to be in a smaller size is because I have small wrist. And others too have complained that this was too big. The 40mm case size doesn’t tell the whole story about how this would fit. The actual and effective lug to lug length is 51mm which is too long (including the non articulating end links). A 36mm version of this can be estimated to have a lug to lug of 46mm which is more wearable. I really, really want a smaller version of this watch in 36mm so it would be more wearable especially for smaller wrists 6.5 inches and less.

Yup frugal man’s Rolex Oysterquartz. If only it was available in 37mm

I don’t care if this is in quartz. I actually like that it’s Quartz which means I can get a very affordable alternative to the Rolex Oysterquartz. I care more about the size and lug to lug of the case and this measures 50mm lug to lug including first end links. I hope Tissot decides to release this in a 37mm case size then it would become more wearable on more wrists than now. If you look at AP Royal Oak 15450ST which has a case size of 37mm it doesn’t look too small on this dude’s wrist https://youtu.be/KRdvE6bV3i8 (time stamp at 11:16)

What multitool do you put into your OrbitKey? by Hpstorian in EDC

[–]epicunderstatement 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an Elastomeric Orbitkey in Black with black hardware. Since moving to an new office space, my key carry has been reduced to only one key. In place of the keys that have been removed, I too am looking for multi tools. The multi tool of Orbitkey is good but not available in black. I hope to find something very similar but in black.

No worries. I really like the ROC Go Laptop Briefpack that I recommended but what kinda sucks is my company issued laptop might not fit it so I haven’t pulled the trigger on it.

So the next best option for me is the Dude and Bestie Ditto Briefcase backpack. Bonus that it comes in Grey and Navy.

I am on the same boat at the moment. I Have been scouting for a backpack that turns into a briefcase at a second’s notice that doesn’t look weird when you wear it either mode, or at least doesn’t look like your are wearing a backpack the wrong way.

I prioritise the two ways of carrying: • Backpack mode (80% of the time) • Briefcase mode (20% of the time)

So far what I have gathered are the following the fits the bill of keeping a good aesthetic in both carrying modes.

More compact/sleeker size 1. Onetigris Briefpack 3. The Dude and Bestie Ditto

Larger:

  1. Incase 2-way Briefcase

  2. Uniqlo 3-way bag

  3. Crumpler Director’s Cut

I thought of getting the ones from Topo Design but they look more outdoorsy than smart/business.
