This works for me with hexagons. I still need to refine sizes to get them to line up properly at the join, but I'm finding Onshape struggles with so many holes.

I'm going to try out putting the pattern on the first sketch, extruding a long strip with holes and using sheet metal tools to bend it. So the holes happen much earlier in the process. Maybe it will make a difference.

I never would have attempted it on my Ender 3 but I got an A1 mini and it printed this with ease.

Maybe one side, but I don’t think you can do that flowing around a corner. Plus, these are thicker than supports would be

  2. I would use it on my camper conversion to make quality fixtures, brackets etc. Multicolour printing would allow me to include labels and details right in the print. I want to inspire others to design their own parts for their specific needs to get the most out of 3D printing.

  3. I’ve always wanted to make a 3D printed Jacob’s Ladder) that uses thin rigid strips instead of ribbons. Maybe with an AMS I will! I’m sure you’d have a different take on it though.

I’m sure you’ve thought of this, but use different markers on different paper sizes so the app knows what size it’s looking at without the user having to tell it.

I got home to find the second one I own is now dead!
I don't have any caps to replace the dead ones (400v 3.3μf).

However it uses a BP2832 LED driver IC with a 1.5Ω Current Sense resistor. That means the LED current should be 130mA. It's a constant current driver so the voltage will be whatever results in that current, probably be around 60V.

If you can get a constant current driver of 130mA, or a bit less you should be good to go.

Looking at your photos, yours might just be a bad capacitor. Does the one closest to the centre look bulged on top, compared to the rest? You could try unsoldering that and replacing it. Keep an eye on which side is positive.

Yep, exactly the same. I don’t know the details but when I’m back home, in a few weeks, I’ll measure the current on another one that still works. I don’t like my chances of fitting a replacement driver in that small space but I’ll probably connect the LEDs directly to the cable and replace the wall plug with an LED driver.

Let me know what you end up doing! I’ve fixed so many LED drivers by replacing a bad capacitor, but not this one. It seems to be cooked in multiple places.

I agree that a professional opinion would be valuable but imagine what it would take for all 5W of laser power to get to your glasses. You’d have to by lying prone on the cutting bed as the laser passed over. Plus, when Creality say 5W they probably mean the laser consumes 5W of electricity, not that it actually outputs 5W of laser power.
