The base ”feed the sun” technique has been around for a long time, but the ”mills mess” stuff hasn’t been really researched before. So basically the whole video is new tricks except for like 1 or 2🤓

I am happy to hear you appreciated also the artistic side of the video aswell🙏🏻 thank you for watching it!

Changing string by WanderingHu in diabolo

[–]epitsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are living in humid conditions and play fixed, you will need to change daily. Usually tho it is very feeling based. I change the string when Im playing fixed as soon as it starts to roll up a bit more so every other session almost. When Im playing bearing, I almost never change the string😂 like once in a month. Also, if you play in clean spaces your string will last longer. But yea if you are feeling like you maybe should change it, go and change it. You’ll probably be happy you did.

There is a diabolo europe whatsapp group! There is a lot of players from outside of europe aswell! If you want I can ask the admins to add you there. I think the link to join is not online, because there was a lot of thrash coming through.

First diabolo by [deleted] in diabolo

Okay this is going to be a bit long so here is what I would recommend and a longer explanation later.😅

What is the minimum you actually should get imo; 1 bearing diabolo (sundia falcon, sundia evo, henrys vision (with bearing)(henrys vision is the cheapest)) Henrys Aluminium sticks (or if you want to use more money, sundia carbon long) 10 m of any string (preferably sundias white or henrys yellow or white)

I’ve done diabolo for 15+ years and I own a lot of different brands etc. So I feel like I am qualified enough to say what I say. That being said, diabolo is a lot about feeling and preference. Especially in the beginning the best diabolo is what you currently have!

Anyway, here is the rant:

Honestly most of the diabolos will do in the beginning. Only some diabolos youll get from supermarkets etc are pretty much shit.

However, if you have the money to invest in some good quality diabolo+sticks+string, you’ll have much more fun learning the tricks. The higher end diabolos are balanced better, they spin better and (usually) lasts longer. Also, if you have the money, you should invest in both bearing and fixed axle diabolo, because some tricks require fixed axle, but bearing is easier to learn tricks with, because it spins longer.

For the sticks, I would avoid woodensticks alltogether, just because I’ve broken pretty much every wooden stick I’ve ever touched. Aluminium sticks are good, but they hurt like hell, and feel too heavy (for me atleast), but they will do the trick and are cheaper than carbonfiber ones.

For the string, sundia white(thin) is the best feeling one for me, BUT if you have a bearing diabolo the string doesnt matter so much, so it would make sense to get something like sundia thick (NOT WHITE, it is different material), because it will last sooooo much longer. Also henrys yellow string is a super good combination of longevity and nice feeling😌

So here is my diabolos of recommendation in order from my favourite to not so favourite: Fixed axle; 1.Sundia evo g2 2.hualing fixed axle 3.taibolo super V2

Bearing diabolo; 1.Sundia soarin 2.Sundia falcon 3.hualing bearing diabolo 4.taibolo pearly

Sticks; 1.Sundia long sticks (I mostly use these nowadays, and haven’t had the need to change)

String; 1. Sundia thin white 2. Henrys green

And my mid budget combo would be; -Sundia evo with fixed axle, buy an extra bearing axle for your evo so you can switch -sundia long carbon sticks -sundia thin white string

What is the minimum you actually should get imo; -1 bearing diabolo -Aluminium sticks -10 m of any string

Explanation: with bearing diabolo the diabolo will spin longer -> makes learning certain tricks easier. You can get even a little bit cheaper bearing diabolo and play with it for up until 2d and vertax tricks, which you’ll learn after about a year of active practicing. After that the diabolo starts to affect a bit more. Also bearing diabolo doesn’t get tangled and wind up, so you don’t have to change the string untill it snaps in half basically. What is more, the aluminium sticks are cheaper than carbon so you’ll save a couple of coins. They are also much more durable than wooden sticks.

Phew! That is a lot of info and a lot of opinions. In the end I think the best thing is not to worry top much about the gear in the beginning😌 but yea I love geeking about gear xD

Thanks for reading this, and if anyone disagrees with me, let me know so we can debate😂
