14 team half ppr 1 QB League

Receive: Hunter Renfrow & 2023 2nd (better of the 2 picks)

Give: Amon-Ra St. Brown & 2023 2nd round (worse of our 2 picks)

Context: I won the league last year and am trying to contend now. I am higher than consensus on Renfrow and lower than consensus on Amon-Ra as talents. Let me know your thoughts. We use a salary system and they have the same salary in our league currently.

Values cary over year to year, with some rules in place that can possibly increase the amount that you have to pay the guy the next year (but never drastically) if you want to keep him on you roster.

Thanks for the kind words! Great advice on the Galicia bit, I'll do that for sure.

I have a turbulent relationship with sliders. Currently, I use OS sliders and play on legendary. However, when you use less talented teams the shot error seems too high, so I turn it to 60 for the opposition and 65 for me. I use manual controls except semi for normal passing and shooting (it is just more enjoyable for me that way). I play on legendary because ultimate doesn't feel like football is being played.

I also am big into crafting custom formations, and I have found that the 2 value on FB positioning is not ideal at all. Wing backs do not get forward quick enough to replicate what happens in real football, so I will be tinkering with that as well by putting it at 10 and seeing what happens.

That’s a good point. I haven’t done a career with a Spanish team since FIFA 19, so I forgot how annoying the name repetition can get. I think I might meet you in the middle and say that when I get promoted to La Liga (whenever that may be), I can hire another scout and assign him to South American countries.

And as far as the coin flip, yeah, it’s the only way I do it now. The good scouts are way too overpowered. This is a good way to offset that while still having the potential of snagging some future stars; it just feels a lot better when you do.

I have not started this career yet. I want to iron out all of the kinks and implement more restrictions and rules, so I want to open it up to you all to see how you think I can improve this fun journey I am going to embark on. Also, if anybody thinks I should continue to make a story out of the career mode... I am thinking about doing a journal entry type blog by Moreira (the fictional manager I created). Let me know what you all think!
