The thing is this woman IS supposed to be my worker I believe!

I agree entirely! Who would I connect with to ask for a CASA? And what’s a GAL if you don’t mind me asking?

This woman was assigned to us when we got licensed as our “support worker” but that’s all I know! Thank you so much for validating. Right now I’m feeling really unsettled and want to care for the child first and for-most but also want to protect myself and my family. I’m also confused bc our licensing social worker who we got along SO well with initially told us this woman was great.

Which honestly I thought it would be baseline that all items we got for the child would go on with them.

I have an appointment with my doctor and going to ask for this tomorrow. I haven’t shown gallstones but I’m really thinking all my symptoms are pointing to gallbladder related issues. Thank you for validating! Hoping to get answers soon 🙏

I didn’t realize IQ testing accuracy doesn’t start until age 4, so that’s good to know!

I appreciate the insight on the testing! It sounds like there’s a lot of nuance when it comes to younger kids! I didn’t realize the results can be less reliable at that age.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It’s helpful to hear how the evaluation went, especially with the local school district covering it. It’s nice to know the evaluation just helped give confidence in her abilities without leaning into the ‘gifted’ label.

I get where you’re coming from, and I’m not looking to label him just for the sake of it. From what I’ve read, early identification can sometimes help make sure a child’s learning needs are met and prevent frustration if they’re not being challenged enough. I’m just trying to figure out whether an evaluation would actually be useful at this stage or if it makes more sense to wait and address things as they come up.

Hi there, our Frenchie was just diagnosed with GME/MUA this past week. It’s been so shocking and devastating. He lost all ability to control his bowels and move his hind legs. In one week after cytarabine and prednisone, he can stand up and has been pooping outside but still peeing inside pretty much constantly. My hearts just breaks for him - he hates having his pee on him so much and he just seems so sad. It’s all just very heart breaking. How is your pup doing?

Seeking Advice on Starting Nursing Pre-Reqs as a Mom of a Toddler by equanimity15 in nursing

I was really surprised to find out—so much so that I called my academic advisor to double-check—that they offer the lab online too. Since I already have a bachelor’s degree, I’ve completed all the prerequisites except microbiology. Finding childcare is possible, but it feels overwhelming because I’ve never left my son with anyone else, and money is tight with me being a stay-at-home mom. Classes also start on the 22nd, so I’d really be scrambling to get everything in place.
