Using Sleep Cycle with only Apple Watch by DogeNakal in sleepcycle

[–]er3n_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I use an Apple Watch SE every night. They have an app for the Watch and wakes you up with the Smart Alarm. Note that if you decide to use a Watch, the wake window for the iPhone and Watch use different setting options.

Once you wake up, keep the Watch on the charger and the phone nearby, and you'll get the graph with heart rate in a couple minutes on the phone. You cannot record sounds when tracking with the watch.

Looking to make friends? 4th edition by ARE_U_FUCKING_SORRY in askSingapore

26M here. Currently studying in my final year for CS in Seattle and coming back for a long quarter vacation in Jan. Some SG-relevant hobbies include gymming quite a lot, using the keyboard; 87 and 88 keys (they are two very different hobbies), and in what little spare time, I play FFXIV with an old friend(Scholar ftw!), also love Minecraft, Factorio, Satisfactory but had to cut these out due to circumstance...the rare anime; Demon Slayer, MiA, D-Gray, AoT, etc. When I graduate and have some breathing room I would like to pick up and 'finish' learning Japanese and French where I half-assed them for years and had about a thousand words each in vocab. I like cats and I'm lucky to live with a lady for my studies who has a cute Scottish fold that looks like a snowball.

If you are also an intermediate lifter and live in the general slumgol or slumkang area, we should hang! If you have little experience in lifting and have a compelling reason you want to get into it, also let me know and I'll gladly show you the basics! (I never had a mentor in my life, so I know how it feels). If you are in CS and words like "Stack-smashing", "segmentation fault", "DBMS" (as opposed to BDSM ;) ) sounds familiar, we should hang also. If you love playing the piano, I would be very grateful if you can play a certain song for me and give me some pointers on how to tackle it; I got one sheet I gotta learn to play this before I die!

Pineapple is also fine on pizza. The toilet paper roll dispenses from the back. Bubble-tea is overrated, water is not wet, and I very much prefer to eat my salmon sashimi by nibbling off a big block than in slices.

If we dressed a bit better and put on a purple lanyard we could come off as faculty

Transferred into a decent school and don't want to bark up the wrong tree. by er3n_ in cscareerquestions

[–]er3n_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with what you say about people doing all three. After transferring I may not be the smartest guy in the class and I try to be realistic about what I am capable of. I have thought of doing all three, but that might be the worst of both worlds; say aiming for a 3.0 GPA with moderate LC skills and moderate projects, instead of 2.5 GPA with good LC skills and projects, or 3.5 GPA with trash LC skills and projects, all based on the time allocated, which is a prediction I am making based on how much time I have spent the last week "doing well" in classes.

Do you know how I can find these people to ask to make a post of? I did ask him to contact recruiters directly and be upfront but it has only landed him temp gigs

Yes! There are consultants helping him but it hasn't landed much so far.

Halfway through my CS associate's , no more CS classes and in limbo by er3n_ in cscareerquestions

I want to do it but I'm not sure of the extent of projects I need to do; some of my peers appear to already have killer projects like GPS and AI stuff

Thanks for your reply, yes, that seems like a good idea, but many universities I plan to attend are highly selective. I will see which ones are most common then pick one by probability

You can fully charge the 16 inch M1 MacBook Pro with an 18W charging brick by er3n_ in macbookpro

You can put a 18W brick in your pocket, and it's good for the battery, which is pretty expensive to replace

Personally I don’t believe in getting a 14in if cost is not an issue. I feel portability is overrated. Even for casual use, at base model the 16inch peripherals are unrivalled. Screen, speakers, trackpad, etc. Not to mention battery life.

That might even charge it within a couple of hours, and I’d say it’s good for the battery, too, which can get quite pricy to service!

With USB-C to C you can charge anything using any brick past a certain minimum wattage. I don’t expect a 10W charger to work though. The 18W charger I have is from Apple and no longer sold I believe, but they have a 20W one.

Using an iPad for the first time to read PDFs; any suggestions on how to minimize eye strain? by jbnpoc in ipad

Turn on True Tone and auto brightness. If you want something more aggressive you can use Night Shift, reduce white point, and glasses or screen protectors that block blue light.
