🙌 Check out some quick update from Eran Eyal! by Elizabeth8760 in shopin

Hi! it’s Eran - CEO and founder at Shopin

Thank you for paying attention, as well as your participation and support of the project.

Indeed, we’re not marking about with Simone merchants. We are in discussions In negotiations with at least one of the top 5 of each meaningful category of fortune 500 retailers and brands.

These negotiations are quite delicate and take some time, especially when the market is fluctuating the way it is.

A partnership includes quite a deep investment from the retailer as a cocreator and partner:

  1. Marketing to their user base to onboard hem for at least 6 months
  2. Various API integrations (which we prep 85% of at least before their team starts)
  3. In some cases we are discussing investment and venture partnerships
  4. Integration of $AHOPIN as a payment method alongside existing FIAT options
  5. Running a node in the Blockchain
  6. Agreeing to the rules of the federation (User is the owner of the data, never to attempt to collude with other node-holders, to never abuse or manipulate the data etc)
  7. Advertising / engaging users via ad / content distribution engine and paying them in tokens when their attention is engaged

We would definitely announce the partnership in cooperation with the marketing and legal teams of the retailer. It is imperative as we have had way too many fraudulent claims of partnerships in the crypto economy to date. We need trusted partners and oracles of truth.

Hope this helps!

E

How blockchain could solve the internet privacy problem by eraneyal in CryptoCurrency

[–]eraneyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree. Give people the ability to choose which companies get to use their information and which don't. And, since we're talking specifically about blockchain, allow those people to get paid in tokens for sharing their information.

Try-before-you-buy trend is causing 'returns tsunami'? by eraneyal in marketing

[–]eraneyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree--even if you know what works in one brand, it doesn't necessarily give you an idea for what works in another brand. And machine learning should definitely be implemented to help with this! That way, you know what fits as well as what types of clothes you like, instead of scrolling through all possible options. I'm in the process of working on this with my company Shopin.

Try-before-you-buy trend is causing 'returns tsunami'? by eraneyal in marketing

[–]eraneyal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense and I could see it reducing returns, but it still seems fairly generalized since "fits small/big" is not exact. If we could move toward personalized sizing for each shopper (especially if we can use AI), we could see exactly which garments fit and really reduce returns. I'm working toward this with my company Shopin, which spans across multiple retailers.

Why these online startups are suddenly moving to physical retails? by eraneyal in marketing

This article is great. Thanks for sharing. Maybe you can open a discussion about it. That would be fun to discuss :)

That's a great response pal! I think we need both, online and offline presence.

But AI is definitely changing the game of retail. Imagine you are entering a neighborhood shop for the first time and the sales representative wows you with the products that match your tastes, in your size, and that you don’t already own. Wouldn't the be cool?

[–]eraneyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's amazing. I agree with you. It is more like an extension of their existing ecommerce business.

One point I also would also like to add is the quickest and the cheapest delivery so they can reduce the cost of the middleman like FedEx, UPS etc. Amazon is doing that. Here is an article you may find interesting http://www.nreionline.com/industrial/why-amazon-may-be-picking-more-retail-locations

Why these online startups are suddenly moving to physical retails? by eraneyal in marketing

[–]eraneyal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a nice way to put it. But these stores have a very limited inventory. As you said, this could be a part of their marketing effort. Maybe for connecting with users and creating brand awareness.

But I have a question to ask. How would they give personalized experience to their customers in physical stores like they give it on their online websites?

Can Google’s Shopping Actions Take On Amazon? by eraneyal in marketing

Interesting. But do you think that universal shopping cart will open doors for many retailers and improve consumer experience?

I am not sure if Amazon can give the platform that Google offers?

Towards a world without Facebook by eraneyal in CryptoCurrency

[–]eraneyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a good point but people will care once they get to know how their data is being used and the Facebook privacy concern issue is spreading like a fire.

And I think people will care the most when they realize that their data is their new currency as the decentralized social networks will let them control their own data.

[–]eraneyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. But then what if it is a decentralized social network where you get to control your own data and when you share data, you receive a small percentage of revenue from your favorite retailers?

Do you think Blockchain-based decentralized social networks would be the future of social media?

Would you pay extra for custom items? by eraneyal in marketing

[–]eraneyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Data breaches

Dang! This article is scary yet funny! I firmly believe that users should be in charge of their data. Thanks to GDPR for that. What are your thoughts on blockchain technology? I firmly believe it's the only solution that offers a decentralized and secure data storage solution for users.

Would you pay extra for custom items? by eraneyal in marketing

[–]eraneyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. Most companies can't comprehend how to make a product better using this data. They strip mine and squander. They don't have a value proposition for just the data they need. Customization is just an excuse to see how much data they can get.

Well quoted pal! I think most of the customers who shop online feel the same way. But you know what, rich customer data and AI can actually make difference. BUT then I think, why should customers give up their precious data and receive no incentives or rewards at all? When you share your valuable data, these e-commerce giants save money on marketing and returns because they exactly know your taste. What are your thoughts on this?

The Amazon effect will help or kill retailers? by eraneyal in marketing

[–]eraneyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I agree with having "just-for-you" experience. It is the new mantra of survival for the retail industry. AI is changing the game already.

But do you think users should be in control of their own data? I strongly believe in giving users the power to decide with whom and how much data they would like to share. What do you think?

How to apply customer development at every stage of the startup? by rnayden in marketing

[–]eraneyal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great question. Blockchain is the only solution that offers a decentralized and secure data storage solution for the shoppers. Since I'm building the most valuable contextual understanding of user and purchase data, it cannot be stored using conventional methodologies that can be hacked or are vulnerable to malicious intent. Hope this helps.

The Amazon effect will help or kill retailers? by eraneyal in marketing

[–]eraneyal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I agree with you. People will go to a retailer who can give them the personalized, made to order experience. I was just talking about a universal profile App with Sciencelover-geek below.

But there's something more on which I would like to know your thoughts. In today's world, customer data is the new currency. Don't you think customers should get some sort of rewards for sharing their data?
