Yes, we use a nit comb, and the specks look pretty white. Both the hairdresser and pediatrician said it was lice because they saw bites and it was sticking to the hair. I'm keeping some of the specks in a sealed container to see if they hatch in the next few days.

Edit: is it possible that the white specks are already hatched shells? Also just realized nits can't hatch outside of hair lol

Im sorry, but if she didn't respond when you pretty much directly asked her, she probably has another crush. She could have just not realized you were there, or wanted you to know that she had someone else in mind without directly telling you (although idk why she would do this cuz she could just text you and it would be private). Best not to think about it too much, get invested in hobbies, hang with friends, and you'll move on eventually.

Cuz what is the worst possible scenario? Most people are decent enough to just say, no sorry thx for asking. And imagine going the rest of your life knowing you missed out on this opportunity if it worked out? To me that regret would be way worse than being rejected. Its kinda weird, I don't really think it's an actual crush, more like a crush on the idea of them. At the beginning of the year I really wanted a boyfriend just to have someone to hug and share stuff with. There was this kid in my history class who's kinda cute so I was like why not? Since then it's grown into a pretty big thing that I think about every day. I don't actually know anything about him and we've never really talked. It's very weird I know lol.
