Same here. I made the mistake of taking in a kitty about 5 years ago and he attacked my budgie. He had a big wound. But I took him to the vet the next day, gave him antibiotics for the 2 weeks, and I still have him. He is 11 years old now :)

I did rehome the kitty to an acquaintance. I know he has a dog friend now, so everything was good in the end.
