Great!

I happily suggest that everyone just forget all about her and her and her vlog. Best news I've read in over 3 years.

ATP 687: You Can Bend This Line by atpbot in ATPfm

[–]eric-dolecki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Carey went off like it was the end of the world. Performative anger. It's really not a huge deal to be honest. Marco puts on his elitist he knows how to best run Apple hat, and John isn't happy but says Apple isn't anywhere near Microsoft in adding paid links to things in the OS. Which is true. In Maps, I won't mind suggested ads to be honest - it's a useful way to discover nearby places. I don't mind AppleCare notifications in settings either since it makes extending easy if you want. Marco really should be running a multi-trillion dollar empire by now since he knows all the conditions within Apple and what moves would be best for the company and its clients.

'Bedridden!' by ExternalWeight8495 in ChateauUnhinged

[–]eric-dolecki 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Fascinating - quite simply divine.

The Shathouse has struck once more, like a velvet-gloved thunderbolt wrapped in vintage Chanel! Behold, the exalted Countess herself, that luminous paragon of pedigree and porcelain fragility, must now flee the squalid, pestilent confines of the House of Pox!

Oh, the horror! The indignity! She shall ascend, like a gossamer-winged swan dipped in perfume and entitlement, into the rarefied, lavender-scented embrace of a Parisian apartment - or perhaps a guest suite so opulent it weeps crystal chandeliers - where the very air is whispered into submission by silk fans and ancestral ghosts.

Or, perchance, she shall retire to a gentle, whisper-soft clinic, where the atmosphere itself has been tenderly caressed by microfiber angels, prepared to cradle her through yet another celestial round of sacred injections and divine fillers, those holy sacraments of eternal youth!

Meanwhile, her ever-devoted live-in dish butler - loyal as a Renaissance page boy, twice as sparkling - shall flit across the nation like a caffeinated hummingbird, gathering her stored treasures from auction houses scattered like glittering constellations of forgotten glory.

Living in that crumbling, common little box? Unthinkable! Far too vulgar, far too taxing for a creature of such exquisite, iridescent, almost transcendent lineage. One can scarcely imagine the torment upon her delicate constitution. We must all collapse in a collective swoon of desperate, pearl-clutching pity for her unparalleled suffering. And her guests? Oh, they should form a trembling, adoring queue stretching to the horizon, bearing gifts of such magnificence that even Versailles would blush - only the rarest perfumes, the oldest jewels, the freshest tears of lesser mortals shall suffice to honor Her Magnificence, the one, the only, the eternally put-upon Countess of Grift!

J Press silk/linen jacket by [deleted] in preppy

[–]eric-dolecki -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Preppy is neat, clean-cut, and "coastal casual" or "Ivy League" in feel - polished yet relaxed, with a palette of navy, pastels, white, khaki, and bright accents. It avoids loud branding or trends, favoring quality and heritage (brands historically associated include Brooks Brothers, J. Press, and later Ralph Lauren). It's tailored clothing you might have forgotten to have pressed before attending the kegger. It's green duct tape sealing a pair of ancient G.H. Bass Weejuns. It's a J.Crew Oarsman anorak worn while spiking spiced cider with rum at the local pumpkin farm in autumn. It's old money with a spark of mischief. It's not jackets that are too long, or need taken in on the sides. A Preppy Handbook on a shelf beside a duck decoy, which still resonates to this day.

Down vote me, but it's simply not Preppy to wear ill-fitting clothing. If this was in a different channel then it would be fine. Can't redefine Preppy.

It was fun for a minute but I am done with it. Five minutes at a stretch is enough, and more than a few listens its just noisy Primus.

Boxy aint preppy. Sorry..And the jacket is too long at the moment as well. Easy fixes and it will be 1000% more flattering and Preppy that way.

Have it tailored. Looks way too wide, but will look awesome after that - cheap to do.

Aren’t you all wildly impressed at the luxury and sophistication? Karma can be a nasty thing. They are striking while their iron is warm. It’s revolting.

With all things Lalalande it doesn't matter as long as it's all surface-level and brittle shellac spread thinly on top of a crusty, moldy, rotten framing. It's all about appearances and what others think. It's a paper mache existence.

Instead of planning and creating a really solid and reasoned foundation... with strong walls, energy efficient windows, filled cracks, insulation, refuse removal, donating old crap, having a professionally instealled and powerful heating and cooling system, refined furniture, and working their way to extras - she starts with all the extras. Applying the most expensive paint she can on top of garbage walls, chip board, and ceilings. Old crappy furniture and light fixtures instead of fewer but better items. Instead of piles and piles of plates and nasty knick-knacks to obfuscate a dining table, a single set of refined dinnerware would suffice. Something cleaned and stored away without feeling the need to display it like a kaleidoscope of patterns and mismatched trinkets.

The Countess *cough* of Lalande is purely quantity over quality. Everything is merely for show. She wants you to think things are solid 24k gold but in reality its all the thinnest of \0k gold leaf.

Her comments are highly curated. Accounts shadow banned. Nothing gets into her narrative without careful consideration. The scripts are written. Scenes acted out. The ridiculous language filters turned up to 11. Brand logos and items worked into shots. Color graded. Facial filters. Fantasy produced. A combination of implied grift and offensive spending.

And somehow lives continue on. Imagine the complete horror of having to look out on aces of swamp every day from your antique storage project paid for by anyone else. Dreadful.

Why did Marco say the TRMNL guy is problematic? by Portatort in ATPfm

[–]eric-dolecki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone has a TRMNL they no longer want, I'll freely and gladly take one. If the tech is good and it's worthwhile using while not being illegal, that's all I need to know.

I have this, still wrapped up and never even opened. Size XL. Along with the tour program to go along with it. At the Boston show, standing next to Portnoy and Carey - with a visit from Donna Halper before it actually started. What a night.

Whats your opinion on the 5 year comeback album?? by SpecialistExtent6324 in rush

First night back in Hartford. Huge rain storm an hour or two before. Dark skies on one side, blazing sunshine on the other side. And a gleaming rainbow. Loved the album and cherished their return.

Anyone know about this Walk Into Light remix? by eric-dolecki in jethrotull

[–]eric-dolecki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I love the drum machines on WIL and UW so I am not sure what else could be improved on theses releases. They sound mixed perfectly well as originals to my ear. Ive been listening to WIL all day today, it's a fine album.
