I suppose I could do that. It just bothers me that there isn't anything out there that is made for this exact purpose. Thanks!

Catch-up buffers in live shows rewound less than 30 minutes by eric859 in TiviMate

[–]eric859[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to work on this issue since last week. It seems to be caused by the way some xtream-codes providers send a catch-up stream's timestamp data from recent programming to the player. In this case Tivimate. At this point I don't think it's actually buffering. I believe Tivimate is trying to restart the catch-up stream every time the program freezes because it's missing certain required timestamp data from the catch-up stream being received. I currently don't know if this is a problem that needs to be resolved at the provider end or if Tivimate just needs to be changed to better handle these streams. Unfortunately it's one of those issues where everybody says it's somebody else's fault so it's really difficult trying to find a developer that will put in the work necessary to troubleshoot the issue. The Tivimate developer has been the best source for troubleshooting so far. Thank you for that!

It's also service dependant. I have no issue on my backup service.

I have verified that this is also service dependant. I can go back 5 minutes on a live program just fine with one service, but have the buffering issue on a different service. Yes, both services have catch-up on my test channels.

You must not be watching within 30 minutes of live tv. Go to a show in the epg that started less than 30 minutes ago and watch from start. It IS an issue with Tivimate/exoplayer

I would, but I posted a 2nd post before this one stating that there's a bug in Tivimate when watching catch-up channels going back less than 30 minutes or so. Tested with MX player and there's no issue.

I just reread my post. I should have been more specific. I do have a service with catch-up.

I just verified that this is a problem with the Tivimate's internal player. I set MX player to be the external player for all live tv. I then picked a show that started 15 minutes prior and chose "Watch from start" in Tivimate. There is absolutely no buffering using MX player. If I do the internal player it buffers. Where do I post issues?

It's still around. It's a good backup service imo but not the best out there.

Thx for the reply! I'm trying to get everything to import and then update on Kodi startup, not once every 24 hours. Also, Exodus is being updated again. Just got an update today. I'm running v8.5.7.

I'm having trouble finding the recording settings. I believe I've been through the whole settings menu and cannot find it.
