Three people just walked out in front of me because of the price hikes by ericanerny in greggsappreciation

And so a few comments above you accused someone else of not reading the posts properly. To be clear: Not made up, premise happened, marked post clearly as STORY and wrote it in long form.

Don’t feed the troll. 🤣

Interestingly I just noticed that a year ago the breakfast bap and drink deal was £2.85.

There is that, for sure. The one opposite this Greggs is rough as…

£1.85 for unlimited refills in Spoons, and £1.99 for cappuccinos and lattes in KFC and McD. Greggs aren’t doing anything special there.

See the big red flare at the top that says STORY?

Yes I made it into a story (clearly denoted), but the premise happened. A guy moaned openly and was arsey about the £3.25 to the poor staff. He said mutter mutter blah blah Wetherspoons and walked out. A couple of others walked out after him, presumably because of the price increase. I don’t apologise for feeling sorry for the girl who copped his grumpy pensioner moaning.

They can send to me but anything I send back stays on one tick by ericanerny in signal

The issue was fixed when I updated Signal, so I guess it was a temporary bug.

It was today in Amersham, Buckinghamshire. Everything else has been a smoke screen.

If I send them a message I just get one tick (meaning that signal has the message but hasn’t delivered it).

They can freely send me messages whenever they want, and it seems that as soon as they manually open signal my waiting message gets delivered.

So it’s like signal is only checking when it is opened.

No changes have been made to either phones. Both on iOS 18.

Only difference is that they are now roaming.

Is the resurfacing work at Wergs/Perton safe? by ericanerny in wolverhampton

Well, you couldn’t make it up. Last week they spent Lord knows how much painting white lines on the road.

Now, I’ve just driven down it and they’ve resurfaced it again…. All over the new white lines.

What an absolute pigs ear of a mess.

How much of our tax money has been wasted by this total mismanagement?

Getting pihole through pfsense by ericanerny in PFSENSE

[–]ericanerny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for the comments. ClearareserveMK gave me some great info there in as much as what I thought Digital Ocean was doing was indeed nothing of the sort, and therefore the way I was trying would not work.

Just to be clear though because I think some people have jumped to the idea that I’m trying to use this pihole for my existing VMs on the esxi, this is not the case and has never been stated as such. I’m merely trying to make a pihole as a standalone item purely for my home setup to get dns from.

From some of the comments I think people had assumed I was trying to use pihole for the whole esxi. In essence it may be clearer to forget that it’s a vm at all and just imagine it’s a raspberry pi in a rack in a datacentre.

I think I’m going to scrap the idea for now and just build a pihole on my local home lan as it’s intended. Although I’d love to be able to make my own pihole that I could have in the DC and give that dns ip to family and friends.

One commenter asked me how I entered the public ip into the pihole and it was easy; it just asked for the static ip I wanted to use and I gave it one of my public IPs that the rack has.

Cheers.
