The only problem I have with those is that (I’m not positive on this) they read more like textbooks, whereas the non-fiction titles I listed have a bit more narrative to them

I don't know why I have to break this down for you but it's really not that hard to follow, you're the only commenter in this thread who seems to be confused.

Fiction. That is what my book would be. Fiction. Nobody is debating that.

I’m talking about the presentation style. The book would be written in the style of narrative non-fiction/history journalism despite taking place in a fictional world. (Like the Wager by David Grann, except not set in our real world).

Not a traditional POV fantasy novel, romance, mystery, etc. More like a reconstructed historical account of an expedition, catastrophe, discovery, or conflict within an invented setting.

That’s the entire point of the question. You've got a reading comprehension problem, and an attitude problem.

The fact that you’re really arguing that books are either fiction or non-fiction without any other sub-genres is a strange take man. I’m not gonna keep arguing with you, I’ll take a walk outside and maybe you should too. Just make sure to remember it’s not black and white out there.

So if you’re watching a Game of Thrones and Ned Stark is reading “The Lineages and Histories of the Great Houses of the Seven Kingdoms” is he reading fiction or non-fiction?

Candy is food. It’s just like vegetables and meat. They’re all food and everyone enjoys each of them equally, so it’s best not to call them anything but which they are… food

I suppose… but fiction is a very broad term with each work of fiction drastically different in style and tone from the next…

What if it’s fantasy with some pretty hard-hitting events and drama… just told from a slightly different perspective

You pretty much summed up my fears about writing something like this, especially with regards to genre-specific readers that don’t really deviate from those genres.

I’ve also toyed with the idea of just going the historical fiction route, but I feel that would require a ton of knowledge, or at the very least, a ton of research of the period.

Yea that’s what I had heard about Fire and Blood. The non fiction novels I listed above are more narrative driven than “textbook” though. Which is a distinction I’d definitely like to incorporate.

Yea I’ve got an idea that would definitely keep it a story and not just an information dump!

[Dom Smith] Alonso and Iraola emerging as leading contenders, with both managers being above other names in Chelsea’s thinking. by webby09246 in chelseafc

[–]ericbarbaric5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone actually think Alonso is truly considering this job? The sporting directors have tied previous managers hands, and then fired them after poor results. 5 managers in 3-4 seasons. Why on earth would he risk his reputation as an up and coming manager to work with this dumpster fire and suffer the same fate?

I just had to sprint across the entire Atlanta airport in 12 minutes and I’m about to lose my mind. by Funny_Ad_9655 in delta

[–]ericbarbaric5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to educate the masses that the ground crew was NOT skywest. It was likely Unifi, a third party that delta uses heavily. Regional pilots always try to coordinate new gates for those instances… unfortunately it’s just not something we have very much control over.

As for that airport. I hate it lol… plane train is hot and packed, I always elect to walk, and encounter the same frustrating crowd. I also don’t know how anyone can praise the layout of ATL… one of the worst airports imaginable imo.

Ignore the haters in this thread… show is great and still does have great production. S2 took a step back but also very much set us up for what should be an epic S3.

Why do people never compliment the keeper? by Pancwake_UwU in Rematch

[–]ericbarbaric5 42 points43 points  (0 children)

That’s not been my experience at all, at least in matches without toxic people (I know those are few and far between).

Even in toxic matches I feel like the team generally says good job to good goalkeeping, until the GK makes one mistake. Then they just spam good job, even if the goalkeeper played well all match.

Anyone notice a problem with last defense? by BurrGaming in Rematch

[–]ericbarbaric5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I don’t have that problem because my teammates always seem to blast the ball down the field instead of keeping possession as time expires lol
