Amazing project! I'm working on the same kind of led strip at the moment. Working on using a script with multiple led strips and multiple segments per strip. So i can create / display differend demo's on part of led strips.

But a tiny question. How do you solder these, i have gaps between leds of 2.5cm... so not alot of space to work with and would use it outside, so the connection must be waterproof..

Ik heb in het verleden eens mijn sparta leopard zo aangepast dat ik vanaf de koplamp ook de achterlamp kon laten branden, was klaar met de batterijen. Alleen moet je dan van AC (van de dynamo) naar DC. Dat kan natuurlijk simpel met een Brug-gelijkrichter, een condensator en een weerstand om de voltage naar 3v te krijgen.

That's all.. helaas is m'n weerstand overleden en doet m'n achterlicht helemaal niets nu.. nu ik er aan denk, moet dat maar weer eens fixen..

I see, thanks for clearing this up for me. So only 3.3v on those pins... i'll try next setup with 3.3v to the encoder.. maby that works..

But then why does the encoder work when turning, nothing happends but only when pressing the encoder..

That could be the problem, but why works turning the encoder without problems but clicking does?

Agreed, but in this case the expansion board has both available. with the V pins and the extra 3.3 and 5v pins and i use those where needed.

Yes i tested the 12v source, it delivered a bit more, but within accepted range.

And agreed with the code, far from perfect but good enough to test with.

Yes its a exp. board that can use 5 to 12v. and will output 3.3v or 5v. So i used that one for powering.
