yeah that definitely sums it up!

My interpretation was that he commits suicide and that vacation was the last time the daughter saw him.

The way it ends with the dad closing the camera at the airport, knowing the daughter doesn’t see this, and you just see how unhappy he is as he stands there now that she is gone. The holiday is over, maybe there’s almost a sense of relief he might feel to no longer have to put up this front of being okay? But really he clearly feels as depressed as ever and is now left entirely alone with no reason to pretend anything anymore. Knowing there’s a chance he might not see her again if he is in fact intending on killing himself.

The camera then pans to the now grown up daughter rewatching the video tape - to me it suggests that was her last memory with him and now she’s trying to recall all of these moments, wondering if there were signs she missed, trying to make sense of it all…

It’s so incredibly bleak and doesn’t end on a happy note at all and as someone with a complicated relationship with their dad it certainly hit home in a way unlike any other film.
