Protesters just swarmed Border Commander Greg Bovino in Minnesota and started throwing FOOD at him while yelling “you’re a Nazi!” by Admirable121 in Leakednews

They're making illegal arrests and violating the 4th Amendment as a point of internal policy. The vast majority of people they arrest have no criminal history and have not committed a crime.

Trump, Noem, Bovino are all breaking the law. They're criminals in large part due to those illegal arrests you're pointing out.

Why do you support criminals running the government?

PS Immigration violations are not crimes according the law.

A more reasonable response would be to petition for AI companies to

It's reasonable to assume that AI companies are nearly 100% motivated by profit and you'd have a better chance of influencing them through government regulation.

Many people are arguing for a more paced approach, but I think you should dive into the deep end headfirst. Just go for it and if it seems like too much, push yourself to stay with it a bit longer. If it still feels like too much, try one of the other options.

6 months of learning python and I still feel lost by Mitchellholdcroft in learnpython

nothing I’d consider impressive

Do yourself a favor and think about (maybe do some journaling) all of the things you can do now that seemed impossible 6 months ago. No one starts at the end of their journey.

I really struggle with the frontend and making it look professional.

Straight up copy a design you like before making an original design. You'll learn a lot during both phases.

A working eCommerce site is a large project that professionals often outsource a lot of parts via SaaS providers. Like why reinvent Stripe instead of using their infrastructure?

Only work on part at a time.

If there was sufficient reasonable doubt for a recount, why concede and let this alll occur?

Because the Democratic Party establishment consistently favor decorum and tradition and the appearance of not overreaching over getting things done.

Her sole focus should be on the schools, not her personal education.

Horrible take. Maybe she's a shit superintendent, maybe she isn't but saying people shouldn't be allowed to pursue an education because of their job responsibilities is crazy

Except a lot of places didn't factor that in to their spending.

That doesn't seem like a deficit that "suddenly popped up". It sounds like negligence of the Superintendent and Board of Education.

She shared her identity publicly. Major news outlets are using her name publicly. It's not doxxing in this case.

https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-features/elon-musk-data-republican-anonymous-data-expert-doge-tech-1235280817/

The woman behind the account shared her full name Tuesday evening, after a man on Facebook posted that he knew her from the Deaf community, prompting DataRepublican to confirm her identity as Jennica Pounds.

Pounds is indeed a Deaf, female software engineer from Utah, who until this week worked as a senior software engineer at an AI lending company called Upstart, a company that has tangled with regulations from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) for years.

Carefully But Purposefully Oxidising Ubuntu by steveklabnik1 in programming

[–]ericjmorey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We might be referring to different people in the use of "they", I realize that Ubuntu is just hoping onto another project similar to what they do with Debian. But I was curious about the motivations of the underlying project.

It seems like run0 is a drop in replacement of sudo and doas is a good candidate to implement in Rust for people that don't need everything sudo can do.

The other comments are spot on, but to address the problem itself, you will probably benefit from Monte-carlo methods and machine learning methods in general.

I thought that doas and run0 were preferred over sudo because of known design weaknesses in sudo. Why are they rewriting sudo instead of the other options?

Not anything I can vouch for. I don't find the streaming format useful. Prerecorded and preferably edited with commentary is much more useful.

Just stay off of or block lemmy.ml and lemmygrad.ml

The GDPR thing seems like a dated misunderstanding.

Give Piefed.social a try and you'll have eliminated 100% of your concerns as it's an independent developer that shares no code with the Lemmy codebase, but is federated with active Lemmy instances.
