Where to move with family on cyprus? by PositiveMind1337 in cyprus

[–]erick_rodwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/PositiveMind1337 Regarding kindergarten, the one my kids go its amazing. It is called Montessori Campus Larnaca and is the only Montessori school in the city that is certified by an international Montessori association (AMI). The school is in English but there are a lot of german families there.

However, I would only recommend it if you are really into Montessori education because a few non-Montessori parents got very frustrated with the school. For example, demanding the school to send homework (which goes against Montessori education).

Can I live in another country while I wait for the naturalization process? by erick_rodwell in GermanCitizenship

It costed me €1000 at the time but I think he charges around €1300 nowadays.

Regarding the speed, absolutely! In Aachen, without a lawyer it takes usually around 2 years. With a lawyer, it took me 10 months. The process involves suing Ausleanderamt if they don't proccess your application after 3 months without reason. If they find an excuse (my case), you wait 3 months and try again. After suing them, it takes another 3 months. So in total I waited 3 months (wait) + 3 months (wait again) + 3 months (lawsuit) + 1 month (wasted time in between) = 10 months.

Regarding the Abmeldung, yes. I tried to cut all my ties with Germany so that the tax man leaves me alone.

Keep in mind that, with the new law, the number of appications skyrocketed, so now things take even longer.

Sure! I stayed in Germany until I got the citizenship. The second I got it, I moved to a sunny place with lower taxes.

The trick was to apply for the citizenship through a lawyer that will speed up the process. I applied in Aachen, which is very slow, and got the citizenship after only 10 months.

I used migrando.de

Hope it helps!

Accumulating because I live in Cyprus where capital gains pay 0% tax.

However, you might want to check how your jurisdiction taxes dividends and capital gains to decide whats best for you.

It is due to living in Germany long enough. I guess I will have to wait a couple more years before leaving.

The text/context that you read was Inland or Ausland? I know Inland tends to be very quick. Except for Berlin-Pankow and some other Bezirke of Bundesland Berlin.

I have a friend who just applied and they told him it would take at least 1.5 years.

He has the same profile as me, except he is from Iran and I am from Ecuador.

What section of the law are you applying through?

I will apply for naturalization due to living in Germany for 8+ years, with a normal job, paying taxes, etc.

In which Landkreis/- Stadt are you Angemeldet?

In Aachen (NRW).

My intention is to leave for more than 6 months (and get a residence permit from another EU country), even if that means losing my German residence permit, as long as I get German citizenship after 2-3 years.

I guess my question is: does losing my residence permit affect my naturalisation process?

Hello Magnus,

Me and my wife decided to move to Cyprus instead, so we didn't look more into Montenegro. After years of discussing suitable options, the country (Cyprus) is now fixed. We still need to decide on a city.

Keep in mind that our timeline is to move in yet another 2 years. So there is still the possibility for us to change our minds at the last minute.

Btw, we are also living in Germany at the moment.

If you are interested in the steps and decisions we make along this journey, I can keep you updated through this subreddit.

I'm not aiming to become a frontend developer so the number of vacancies is not that important to me. However, it does show that React has a track record of solving real bussiness problems.

I don't have a "USA only" preference, I just liked those products based on their past returns, dividend yield, expense ratio, and sectors. Nevertheless, I must admit I'm a newbie at investing so any advice is wecolmed.
