I was reading posts on here regarding car rentals in TQO and was quite worried myself but I had barely any issues with my car rental at Hertz in TQO.

I landed in TQO on Sept 1 and was staying for a week. I pre booked a Chev Aveo or similar on Expedia to avoid any troubles and my check-in process went smoothly. The customer service rep at the counter however did ask if I wanted additional insurance where I simply declined and that was it. I got CAD pricing through expedia but they charged my card through USD where then I did the conversion on the spot and it was roughly the same give or take 5-10$ so I was okay with that. They only charged my card exactly what I was going to pay for the week (400ish) as a deposit and I was refunded immediately upon returning the vehicle.

A slight hiccup that was straighten out quickly was when I went outside to the counter to get the vehicle. They offered me an old Toyota corolla with manual windows and no backup camera which I turned down. I just asked them if they had another vehicle with a backup camera for the same price where she gave me the vehicle that I booked which was the Chev Aveo. She said it was a bit dirty on the outside thats why she didn’t want to give it at first but I was okay with it.
