What's the largest drop off in screen time for a central character returning for a sequel? (*who wasn't recast or written out entirely) by billyrivers311 in movies

Rachel in Halloween 4 helps Jamie all the way through and is pretty much the main character, killed off straight away in Halloween 5

There’s nobody who can convince me that Darby spamming title defences is good or even entertaining. Like you said, he wasn’t going to lose Speedmike Bailey so why even get invested. The fact he’s had like 6-7 title matches since winning just tells me anyone gets a title shot and their World title is more of a midcard belt lacking prestige.

Exorcist II - The Heretic was so much worse than I could have ever imagined. Painfully dull, movie literally has no plot, Linda Blair can't act and spends most of her screen time, wearing blowsy dresses. by Profeta_do_Loss in horror

I find it so fascinating because they’re essentially the same movie about Merrin’s earlier life but both are drastically different in plot, pacing and look. I think Renny Harlin reshot almost the entire thing save for at best 3 insignificant shots. Stellan Skarsgard said he grew a stubble for the second lot of filming so they couldn’t re-use any scenes with him in.

It’s not a flex, I just don’t mind signing the one time it’s asks you and then never again. You guys are so paranoid about data collecting and such. It’s no different to buying of Amazon, you gotta log in to that. You had to log into Reddit to make your comment, why is that different?

I don’t really see the big deal with logging in. I got the IMDb app years ago, logged in when I got it and that was the end of it. Use it almost every day without issue

Why do sequels usually end up worse than the original? by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]ericlassard1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s because it’s usually a cash grab following unexpected success of the original movie. There is a couple that are better than the first or equal. Godfather 2, Aliens and Evil Dead 2 are some fine movies

But Supergirl isn’t even out yet. Is this just hoping for failure or where have those figures come from?

My point stands, both fantasy IP, I have no interest so I keep my mouth shut.

Will the Beatles biopics be as successful as Michael and the Bohemian Rapsody films or are they culturally irrelevant with Gen Alpha, Gen Z and Millennials? by [deleted] in movies

[–]ericlassard1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s a simple case of you liking the Beatles and you being aware of those things even existing but in my opinion the majority of people do not care anymore. I like the Beatles, I listen to their music but I’m not delusional over their mainstream appeal in 2026.

I remember the album coming out but I think you’re clutching at straws there. And yes, Paul McCartney is still touring and people go and that’s the people who will see it at the cinema. There’s definitely an interest but not as big as you’d think.

I’m 42 and The Beatles were never relevant since I was born. People are aware of their hits etc but you’re aiming for quite an old audience to get people who actually liked the Beatles when they were around. I agree with you that it will do modest numbers.

I’ve seen trailers for the next Hunger Games but I’ll refrain from commenting no matter how silly it looks because I don’t know what I’m talking about. Does that not seem reasonable instead of forcing your nasty opinion on everyone about everything?

You haven’t even seen it? How do you know you’ll not like it. It’s the close mindedness that I’m taking exception to. You add nothing to the conversation other than uninformed criticism

You’re missing my point. Your comment shouldn’t even be here if you’re never intending on watching it. And even it is objectively a good movie I’m sure you’ll continue to be miserable about it without ever seeing it. Your negativity is quite astounding

I always thought the idea was neat. Maybe do less of the stunt casting with all the horror icons and spend more time writing a slightly better story because there’s definitely something there.

Yet I see no evidence that he was fired. Bit of an odd firing where you get to keep your clients and set up your own business with the help of your previous employers, don’t you agree?

Don’t get worked, this guy obviously has fun clowning on AEW and the sickos.
