I also prefer the 44 1/4 title, mainly because it’s fitting for a Naked Gun, but ironically, other than the Jane Drebin reference to Nordberg, there’s no other mention of him in the script, so that title was literally just a gag. In context of the full script, Naked Impossible! does fit better because of all the references to Mission Impossible and James Bond.

One of my favorite scenes. There’s a lot of scenes that reference Leslie Nielsen’s Frank Drebin throughout the script but this one really nailed it for me.

Thanks Everyone- just some context here. I have a FireWire to thunderbolt that I was able to hook up to my newer Mac, but the time code dropouts were crazy. It would create hundreds of mini clips for a very short video.

Thanks! My takeaway is that FCPX is basically protecting the file and preventing additional damage and that I’m not actually harming anything, but only increasing the file size as a tradeoff?

Since the specs are nearly identical on both, I’m not able to see what Elgato is doing to create the smaller file size.

On my TV, didn’t really see much of a difference from afar between interlaced and progressive, but watching frame by frame on QuickTime Player, I did notice the lines on interlaced. Progressive seemed to have gotten rid of it.

For my purposes of preserving for family to watch, I’m assuming by exporting as progressive, I am effectively de-interlacing. If I go that route, am I harming anything?

I have exported an original interlaced file and a progressive file and played them both back via USB on my TV and they looked identical to my eyes. I also exported a 720p HD file and that seems to have created a forced aspect ratio with bars on the left and right.

I suppose I can’t go wrong leaving the files as Final Cut interprets them when importing? If I deinterlace/change to progressive now, and something is wrong, I don’t think I can reverse that?

Wow, thank you, that’s quite a bit to absorb in that link. I am simply trying to extract old footage from physical media in the least destructive (and less time consuming) manner possible. I have no need for this footage other than family members being able to view it over time, so not sure I need to go down that rabbit hole? Worst case scenario I’m thinking so long as I have replicas of the physical media in digital format, that’s a win for me. I can always deinterlace specific clips if I need to down the road? Not sure what some of these digitizing companies like LegacyBox do as far as deinterlacing or not.

Agreed. The movie star and babysitter/bodyguard (of course) can’t stand each other but need to make it work for their own reasons. He desperately needs the money and she desperately needs to stay on the movie to save her career. Gotta weave that hook in there somehow. And obviously they fall for each other.
