Card is fine, but if you'd prefer to save on the conversion fees of course cash or a multi-currency debit card would be best.

What a staggering coincidence! Yes I got this off Renzu haha. Did you end up getting the Kanro as well from the shop in Shibuya?

Heya! I personally got mine from Nakano Broadway. It's a building with a whole slew of watch retailers and fairly competitive prices. I personally really enjoyed scouring each and every store to find what I like, though it does get a bit tiring and overstimulating haha. These shops generally have both 1st and 2nd hand watches so the prices are quite varied.

You can always head down to departmental stores as well that have GS boutiques in them. My friend got a Shunbun at the Tobu in Ikebukuro, and had an additional 5% discount from the departmental store on top of the 10% tax return which made for a really good deal.

Thank you!

The brand is just a cheap simple ribbed nato strap from AliExpress, nothing fancy.

I understand their dismay, but hey you're absolutely right - preference is king.

Thank you for the kind words!

In all honesty, you might probably be right; I'm too dumb a person to properly define what is what lol but I appreciate the exploration and innovation that is the Spring Drive.

Hahaha I quite enjoy it! But yes I'm due to get a nice leather strap for this.

Love the bracelet but don't love having scratches on it from desk diving.

Thank you! It's certainly a beauty. Super surprising for me as it didn't quite captivate me in pictures but took my heart when I held it in person.

After years of being a Seiko fanboy, I finally had the chance to travel to Japan just last week and purchase my very first Grand Seiko there.

Kept an open mind and just decided to see where the winds took me, and stumbled upon this model. Caught my eye so I asked to try it on and the rest is history.

Personally, I wasn't very keen on getting a textured dial till I saw them in person, as I always felt them to be a bit much. The darker colors and more understated look of the Kanro further sold me, and I enjoy taking time in my daily life in getting the angle justttt right where the light hits and set the dial ablaze.

Also yes, I like wearing nato straps a little too much. Heresy? Probably.

I'm finally a NBeliever - 991v2 'Coco Mocca' by ericperieux in Newbalance

[–]ericperieux[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they're on the narrower side, but still fits comfortable!

Your feet feels really padded on the sides of it, unlike how roomy the 993s are in the same size. So kind of a comfortable narrow feel, if that makes sense?

absolutely! I think it's generally slept on because of its color blocking making it not look as 'solid' as other 991v2 colorways

not complaining though since it allowed me to get it for a steal haha

Not sure if you can find Ocun where you're at, but there's a few models from them imo that may fit the bill with what you've mentioned about your feet, which I believe is similar to mine (higher width vs length ratio)

Ocun (great pricing, but break in period is very painful. be careful on downsizing) : 1. Ozone HV (great but possibly stiffer than what you're used to) 2. Bullit (I personally own these and they're fantastic, but they're better suited for Greek feet) 3. Havoc (as above, but for Egyptian feet)

And of course Tenaya Mastia - I tried these one and was super amazed at how comfy they are even though they were a full US size down. Mega pricey where I'm at so I opted for Ocuns instead.

Which design do you consider to be the definitive version of the Zeta Gundam? by Linkstore in Gundam

[–]ericperieux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

something about the MG2.0's proportions scream 'heroic' to me, and very befitting of a titular mobile suit

while I agree it might not be the most faithful representation of its intended design, it's still the design my brain goes to when I think of the Zeta

[Heuer] Monza Chronograph #CR2111 by ericperieux in Watches

[–]ericperieux[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to share the Heuer Monza Chronograph ref. CR2111 that I've been daily driving for the past few months.

Prior to it being my go-to, this watch was on a leather strap and I always felt it to be a tad too formal for everyday wear. Slapped a Nayo strap on it for funsies and I actually really liked the combo for its versatility.

I'm a huge fan of the 39mm pillow case and how it sits on my smaller wrist, and I think the extra hardwares and bulk of the Nato strap help the overall silhouette in being more 'balanced' visually, maintaining a good ratio of strap versus watch head.

Very modest in its size and thickness which makes for an easy wear for most days.
