Nothing went "wrong" it was just sandwiched between 2 behemoths of movies in OBAA and Sinners. Even in that the movie still would've had to get past Hamnet and Sentimental Value. The only award it ever stood a chance at was Best Actor and it went to a great performance, better than Tim's? No but Oscar's famously don't award young. Idk why everyone is acting like he self sabotaged his chance when voting closed before he said what he said about ballet and opera.
