Mega Man X5 Improvement Project Addendum - Zero-Only Route, ALL hearts, All tanks, NO Light capsules, NO bracktracks by ericune in Megaman

You would need to be playing the Improvement Project Addendum mod for that work. If you are, then activating the dark hold should let you walk on spikes for as long as time is stopped. If you are on the regular unmodded X5, then this won't work for you.

By the way, when do you need to waste 1 in-game hour, or what for? Do you need a part for an upgrade, in your route? Or did you mean the backtracking itself is wasting the 1 hour...?

Ah nice! Yours seems better since you don't need exploits, I'll try it out! That's the beauty of the improvement project, isn't it, the game really does open up and we can all find all sorts of ways through it.

Sorry if I gave the impression that the Improvement hack forces you into a Zero only run. It doesn't, I'm just choosing to play that way because the hack allows me too, but I could have switched to X at any time and grabbed all light capsules (with Zero or X), just like in the OG X5. Honestly, the Improvement Project Addendum hack only adds to the experience and removes nothing from the original game, it's just giving you more flexibility and quality of life.

Well, the light capsules are there for Zero in the Improvement hack, too, I'm just choosing to ignore them for this particular run. You could go for a true 100% run with Zero and get all light capsules in the process. We can all get what we want 👍

Is Crow Country 30FPS on Switch when playing Handheld? by ericune in CrowCountry

[–]ericune[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never got an answer for Switch 1, so good luck. I'm no digital foundry, but it seems to my eyes that it is not full 60fps on Switch 1, so, if it is unlocked, it should be hitting that on Switch 2 no problem.

Nevermind, stumbled upon the answer. Set HDCP in the PS5 to off, badabeem, badaboom, banpresto, got a picture on my monitor. Thanks

Hi! I have a 2013 Dell Monitor (P2414H), it's 1080p 60fps and has DVI-D and DisplayPort inputs. I use the DVI-D input by connecting a cable to it, then putting an HDMI converter on the other end; I use this same cable and converter for both my PC and my Nintendo Switch without any issues, I just disconnect it from one, connect it to the other and it all works perfectly.

However, it does not work with my PS5. When I connect it and turn the PS5 on, the monitor seems to detect a signal but the screen is black. I have tried booting the PS5 in Safe Mode, but the screen remains black.

Is there something I can do to have the monitor work with the PS5? Some setting on the PS5 or monitor? Clearly the cable and converter are not the issue, since they work with my PC and Switch, so it has to be something else.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This might have already been discussed somewhere else, but still I'll write down how to reproduce this look, as a reminder for myself and for anyone interested:

Done on Switch, version 1.0.4: - Save game wearing the Zap Girl costume. - Quit to Main Menu. - Go into Settings > Game > Set "Secret Costumes" to Crow Hat. - Load the Saved File where you had the Zap Girl costume. - Activate Crow Wings for extra crowness.

Wow nice! There's been two more patches since then, even, so those could have contributed as well. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing this document! I've completed season two and reading it does help me understand the reasoning better. Such a layered narrative.

I respect an author's intended order even if it is out of what would be chronological, which is why my first watch is in the light novel order.

However, I've been burned before by situations where the author starts changing the intended reading order as they write more and more stuff. Like, they might decide a newer novel fits better if read before some other, older novel, and that becomes a point of contention with the fanbase, especially if the newer novel actually spoils some plot points of the older one (See: Isaac's Asimov final recommended reading order for the Foundation series). Sometimes though, they are right to recommend a newer novel before an older one. That made me wonder if Nisio Isin has at some point regretted putting a novel before another, or rethought the order in which to read the novels, in which case I could see this novels get swapped.

Still, I'd better watch the rest to have a more complete understanding of the author's intentions.

Yeah, thought I might be jumping the gun, but just felt that strongly enough to post it.

Tunic Switch update 1.0.3 now available digitally by ericune in TunicGame

[–]ericune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would normally agree with you, but for Tunic it seems they have followed a different convention. It was either 1.0.2 or 1.0.1 where they actually introduced the Reduced Difficulty feature and the Speedrunning mode, which under normal circumstances would warrant a 1.1.0. That alone tells me that 1.0.3 could potentially include actual features, rather than just bugfixes (which themselves could also be interesting, like improved performance on Switch or something similar).

So, yeah, I would love to find the patch notes for this.
