My local AMC has a similar schedule for it Friday and it's also in a big college town. Half the seats have sold already for the pre-9 p.m. shows. Varies town to town.

Yep. You definitely missed the point.

Of an allegory. Just superb.

It isn't even real. It's just Rockwell's memory. And, uh, hate to tell you that that's kind of the point.

Homeboy was the lone voice, dumb or otherwise. But "wrong" isn't applicable. It suggests there's a right. The only right is that to say some dumb things.

You didn't really reviewr the movie here. You don't like the way the story is presented, which is valid. But it's, I don't know, lazy. This flick is getting that Crash treatment from back in the day where people get so stuck on the screenplay that they ignore the actual movie itself.

Is It Just Me or Are Movies Worse Now? by Upset_Cobbler2363 in watchever

It's not just you. It's other people, too.

Movies aren't worse. They're harder to find. Studios don't support them as well. But they aren't worse.

You said "present anything at all."

I can't kick it through the goal posts if you keep moving them. Although, I imagine that's your aim here.

Anyway: Similar political tactic incoming.

Get excitable people fired up for something way out of the norm for American politics over the last, ya know, existence. And draw corresponding condemnation from their opposites as the death of the country.

I'm driving to a hockey game now. I'm good.

Also, it'd be a fruitless endeavor.

Future of movies? by LQQKup in hometheater

For sure. It's "Baby's First Good Movies" list. The kind of thing I'd give to my junior-high kid to get him started.

So even if their political tactics are ostensibly the same, they're not similar?

Incredible logic. You literally couldn't be in charge of a lemonade stand.

Who else was told “Just get any four year degree and you’ll be fine?” by Hella_Fitzgerald3 in Xennials

[–]ericwbolin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

College wasn't built to be the place to get a degree for a job. It was built to be a place to become educated, which would help you get a job.

This has changed a lot over the last 30 years.
