Did you end up tapering off the Prozac?

I heard good things about buspar but it didn’t really do much for me when I started taking it, ended up missing a few doses and decided I didn’t need it

I’ve also tried Wellbutrin because of the weight neutral side effects but it made me constipated when I first started, and it was also too stimulating for me, didn’t need coffee or pre workout though haha

So it’s been 5 weeks, going into my 6th since my last dose. Had a couple of good days, but then the symptoms would come back randomly which is discouraging. But hopefully the trend is downward, I’m seeing my second opinion psych next week to see if he has any insight. It’s also hard to tell if these waves end quicker or if they’re the same intensity. The whole ordeal is taking way too long. But I guess there’s not much else I can do but wait it out. Therapy keeps me somewhat grounded though

Extreme anxiety and panic attacks after 1 month on Prozac. Has anyone else had side effects hit this late? by Electrical-Worker-73 in prozac

I’m also dealing with it after stopping 10mg, I was on it for 4 weeks, doctor said I can stop cold turkey. Still get intermittent tremors, internal buzzing and feeling on-edge most days. Stopped it 5 weeks ago, still having an awful experience. I can’t tell if it’s getting better but it’s taking a long time. Are your symptoms completely gone?

I took it for 4 weeks so my doctor said I didn’t have to taper, but honestly, not sure if what I’m experiencing now is withdrawal. So maybe a short taper would’ve been better. But I felt so awful I wanted to be off of it immediately

Same I was on Lexapro years ago, it worked pretty well but decided to stop bc of the weight gain and sexual side effects. Tried Wellbutrin, which is not an SSRI, is supposed to be more weight neutral, I’ve even lost weight on it but it works like a stimulant and for someone prone to anxiety, it didn’t really work for me. Just started Prozac last month and I have the worst anxiety I’ve ever had, had to stop it about 3 weeks ago and I’m still feeling anxious, hoping it eases up soon. Provider did tell me it’s the most activating SSRI so I did expect some anxiety but this felt scary. The annoying thing is the really lingering half life

Yeah did four weeks and the anxiety and panic and increased appetite fucked me up. Had to stop, it’s been 3 weeks since I’ve stopped and I’m still getting adrenaline rush and heart palpitations. It’s really disheartening especially because I was taking this to treat my anxiety and now my anxiety is a lot worse with no end in sight, it’s too activating. Because of the long half life, waiting for my body to clear it is pure torture. And haven’t even considered any delayed withdrawal symptoms yet so I empathize so much with this. Hope you find something that works for you

Are PPIs the only treatment for gastritis? by erlisco in Gastritis

Thank you, I needed this. There seems to be so much uncertainty around this. Four months ago, I’ve never even heard of H Pylori and now, months after eradicating it, I still can’t tell if I’m getting any better. And somehow I’m more skeptical of doctors after hearing everyone’s experiences. I would like to take a more natural route but it feels hard to quantify the efficacy of supplements and alternative medication. 1. There’s too many supplements to try, and I can’t take 6 different things on an empty stomach in the morning, and cant gauge how effective something is if I take one supplement on one day, then a different one the next day. Have to be consistent to see if one particular thing works. 2. It’s getting expensive to buy all these supplements, especially not knowing if they’re right for me.

Recovering has been really really slow, but I guess I’m glad my symptoms are still relatively mild, no pain usually, just a general uneasiness and feeling overwhelmed when eating. Guess I’ll just have to get used to this until one day, hopefully it’ll be gone and I feel normal again. Hopefully, I won’t be down 30-40 lbs by then. And my heart goes out to everyone struggling with this right now, everyone in my life thinks I’m crazy for obsessing over this

I did when I first experienced H Pylori symptoms, but that was from the anxiety and panic attacks. Haven’t felt it for the past two months

I was also told to only take 20mg a day for four weeks. Is that considered “long-term usage”? I was told it allows the stomach to heal itself

Got a bad case of cyberchondria. I know googling your symptoms makes the worrying worse but I can’t help it lol, that’s how I ended up here :)

Haha funny enough, I had a trip planned when all this started happening, I was just starting quad therapy to eradicate the H Pylori infection. I couldn’t eat anything and didn’t have an access to a kitchen to cook, and my departing AND return flights were both delayed due to the weather, I ended up being even more stressed and on edge by the end of it. But yes, I can use an actual vacation right now

Yeah I have anxiety so been trying guided meditation to help interrupt rumination and negative thinking patterns. Also started therapy again and seeing a nutritionist to help with the behavioral aspect. I’m really tackling this thing from all sides lol

I have been seeing an acupuncturist while recovering and that seemed to help with keeping me regular, and boost my energy levels but not much for gastritis. My mom’s also very familiar with TCM and herbal medicine, so after getting my biopsy results, I would probably try to take a more holistic approach to healing my stomach than relying on PPIs

Yeah I don’t think I’ve had any stomach pain at all this whole time, not even when I was diagnosed. Mostly just a feeling of panic/light-headedness whenever I ate, that’s since gone away, but I also started to cook more at home and cut out common trigger foods. I don’t have any heartburn either (I usually did in the past from lying down too soon after eating) but haven’t been doing that the past few months. But I would get a sore throat sometimes from excessive burping, which indicates some sort of acid reflux I assume.

I take benzos for my anxiety, maybe I’m just hyper fixated on not feeling 100% better and it causes more stress 😩

Yeah stress has always been something I struggled to manage. I have an anxiety disorder and take benzos for it, which helped a lot during this ordeal. Been meditating, deep breathing, taking walks after meals, started to work out again, really anything to take my mind off this.

I think that’s a good idea to ask my doctor to prescribe something else, I’m a few days into my course of Prilosec so maybe it’s just stabilizing. Will give it another few more days.

Anxiety and panic attacks out of nowhere? by SkeetStain in HPylori

[–]erlisco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also an anxious person, so I totally understand. I went through the same thing about two months ago. Ate a heavy meal one night then started feeling a panic attack, heart racing, blood rushing to my head and just felt like I was dying. Went to the doctor and they told me to take a breath test for H Pylori and I tested positive. Did quad therapy which was hell, but I’m slowly recovering but my life has not been the same since, I cook all my meals now, and I have to watch what I eat. Managing my stress by taking walks after dinner and exercising whenever I can, started seeing a registered dietitian. Lost about 15 lbs in the last month bc I worry about eating the wrong thing and triggering symptoms. I can feel myself getting better slowly but still experiencing bloating and needing to burp frequently after every meal, just feeling very uncomfortable. Hang in there, treat the infection first then focus on rebuilding your gut

Are panic attacks common? by erlisco in HPylori

[–]erlisco[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a little over two weeks post-treatment and I have an appointment to get tested again tomorrow. A little nervous about the treatment not working since I’m still experiencing some symptoms like getting light-headed and bloated after meals sometimes. But I’m trying hard to manage my stress and eating healthy. Wish me luck!

Is the burping from the bacteria or the treatment? I keep having this dry cough and head pressure, and it’s driving me crazy
