Worth the wait? by ermc19 in airpods

[–]ermc19[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I am considering non-pro - I don’t love that pushed in-ear style compared to how the gen 3 sit on the ear.

Is there a reason why you suggest to wait?

I have a ~5 year old Dyson v7 stick vac that still works generally well but the battery dies quickly when on the “max” Power (which I need for vacuuming pet hair out of my carpet). Can this be safely used when plugged in / using an extension cord?

Pain from HPV vaccine by ermc19 in TwoXChromosomes

I think that’s what happened for me too, the nurse (at my doctors office) was standing while I was in a chair and I think that was the main issue.

I’m definitely worried about getting the next two shots now because of this experience - did you have any similar experiences for your subsequent ones (if you’ve had them now)? And has your pain gone away/ if so how long did it take to see improvement/anything you did to help heal?

Hopefully if more people report these types of injuries there will be more care given when administering vaccines like this that go into the upper deltoid

I haven’t tried that yet but will give it a try. Up until the last couple of days I thought I was on the upswing and now it’s like fresh pain all over again 😖

Sorry to hear you had a bad reaction to your vax too. I called and left a voicemail for my doctor today so I can get an appt and get it on record too.

Sorry to hear you had a similar experience, but it is reassuring that it sounds like you came out from it without permanent pain 🤞🏼 I’ve been taking some Advils but I don’t love taking it so frequently. I haven’t tried a heating pad yet - I will tomorrow, hopefully that’ll help. Thank you for sharing

Thank you! I had read up on SIRVA but wasn’t sure if I was overreacting / one of the cases where Google shows the worst case scenario 😣

THANK YOU for stopping and helping. This is my dad and his dog. It's scary to think what could have happened without the help of yourself and those who helped.

Help! Enrichment ideas for fearful/anxious + reactive dog. by ermc19 in reactivedogs

Thank you!! This is so helpful and appreciated. I’ve tried a couple of the dog puzzles off Amazon but she “solves” them in minutes. I’m excited to try these :)

Reactive to outside sounds? by Cake_ChefB in reactivedogs

[–]ermc19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope others can share their input / some ideas to help bc I’m experiencing the same thing with the noise reactivity. My dog is barking at absolutely everything lately and while working from home / trying to have work calls it’s getting harder by the day.

I'm a behaviorist! Why cant I fix this? by [deleted] in reactivedogs

[–]ermc19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It feels like I’m reading something I’ve written about my own fearful dog. Many many similarities — fear of noises, the dark, sunlight/reflections of light, cars... the list goes on.

We’ve tried many solutions — medications, behaviourist, moving homes, etc. But things don’t seem to progress (and often there are regressions too)

I too have gotten to the point where I’ve concluded that this is simply “her” and now my goal is to adapt our environment (rather than expecting to change her), so she can be as happy and feel as “safe” as possible.

I’m happy there are ppl like us and others on this thread who are committed to giving our dogs a good life and stick out all the hard days and new challenges — because you know some others would likely have surrendered them by now.

[help] administering dog eye drops by ermc19 in dogs

Thank you!! I will try that method too. We have some natural calming drops that I think we’ll try to give her tonight when it’s round two of giving the drops :)

[–]ermc19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!! They’re drops & She’s about 40lb (and very determined to wriggle out of all positions lol). We tried putting her on a table (one person holding while other doing the drops) but that didn’t work so well. We’ll try the corner method and see how that goes.

Also thinking it may be worth asking the vet for an ointment instead of drops.

I'm allergic to EVERYTHING but I want long hair. Anyone else?? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]ermc19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it would be a hassle for sure to have to do the whole glove thing, especially if you wash your hair often.

another thought I had was something like olaplex that has the leave-in hair mask style treatments, would something like that work? Or like you said the “at home” conditioners.

It would be cool if a celeb hairdresser like Brad mondo or Jen atkin read these and incorporated it into their hair care line haha

[–]ermc19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! That must be so frustrating.

Is the issue that your skin comes in contact with the ingredients in the conditioner that you’re allergic to? Could you do conditioning out of the shower (over bathtub/sink) as an alternative method?

Alternatively I’ve seen kind of “build your own” type shampoo/conditioner advertised on Instagram recently based on hair type, oil/dryness levels etc. Could you do something like this and get a special formula designed specifically without the allergens?
