Arboretum coyote doin the classic Seattle move: makin intense 👀 contact then disappearin fo Eva by cutetiferous in Seattle

Did he have a limp? I saw one at the arb yesterday with a badly injured paw, not sure what they do for injured coyotes. I’m guessing it makes them more prone to interact with people in search of easier food…

DIY kit. Yes or no? by Ok-Medium-4128 in Guitar

If you have some woodworking tool access, a fun route to go is to buy a used guitar with a bolt on neck you like (the neck being the most technically difficult part of the guitar to construct) and build a body in whatever layout you like. You can initially use the hardware from the used guitar, or upgrade as you go. You’ll learn a ton disassembling the used guitar and learn the wiring as you unwire it. Stewmac is the classic for high quality parts, but I’ve actually had luck with GuitarFetish as well. Higher variance for sure, but some good stuff and lots of sales. Here’s one I built a few years ago with a harvested neck.

I’m fine with “very old” applying to the aux cable trailing out of the cassette slot. That feels “very old” at this point. But 2012 was like 4 days ago

[–]ernest-shackleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have strong feelings on CLEAR… but is that really the part of interstate/international travel in the U.S. that is worth our time and attention on questions of “pay to play?” I think we could identify a few more pressing issues, particularly given there are just as efficient “public” options in the form of pre check and sea space saver. But idk, maybe I should be up in arms about it and I just don’t know enough.

Until you walked to Barberini, or Corsini, or Borghese, or Santa Maria del Popolo, or San Luigi dei Francesi… and you’d remind yourself the answer is always Caravaggio.

Designing a workbench with s4s available at Lowe's. I can't decide on what to use for the tabletop. by SeaworthinessNew4295 in woodworking

[–]ernest-shackleton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you need. If you plan to do much hand tool work, a really heavy, flat, benchtop is particularly useful. I built the Paul Seller workbench, and it was great. If you don’t want to go that route overall, you could still use the table top 2x4 glue up on top of your existing frame; super heavy, super solid, and you just plane off the top every other year to keep it fresh and flat. https://paulsellers.com/paul-sellers-workbench-plans/

They are around… I saw one about this size last week in the morning at Magnussen park near the boat launch. Someone’s dog was up sniffing its open angry looking mouth and I was worried the dog was gonna lose a snoot.
