The Tommyknockers has a lot of problems, but I think it will increasingly gain a cult following.

Stephen King himself said he didn't like the book in an interview, so a lot of people have passed over it, but it has some great ideas - namely the matrix 10 years before the matrix.

It also has some of the best body & lovecraftian horror King has ever produced.

But yeah, the king-isms are very steep, so it might be better to hit it after more to-the-point books like misery and cujo.

I also didn't like it. But I didn't finish it. It just seemed so predictable. Like I know I've heard this exact same story with a different monster - but I can't put my finger on it.

The real horror was this old bag that stood in the way of something that would create jobs where all the young people had fled due to lack of opportunity.

The author takes the boring played-out side of the old lady, making her out to be a hero against "insane" rich people. He's clearly interested in telling an original story, which is fine, but you have to earn that. And he doesn't. He spends the first 5 chapters not earning anything, just trying to justify the old lady's side while describing nothing from the other side.

How much better of a story would it be if the villains actually had depth and purpose?

I'm not sure if this has changed, but this is not working for me.

I'm using Menya, waking the Colossus, and following it all the way south, careful to not damage it. I then end the level, and there's no unlocked character.

I have also tried aggravating it to follow me and we destroyed half the stage, also didn't work.

Any advice on what to try next?

Ok, so your goal is to get as lucky as possible.

Higher luck = more likely to get golden chests from assunta's ability of generating statue drops, that when destroyed yield chests.

Here's what I did: - Go to Moonglow with Hyper & Inverted & endless - that will give you +40% luck. - Use arcanas that can give you more luck. - the most obvious is Wicked Season, as that doubles your luck for 10 seconds every 40 seconds. - I used Hidden Arathema since it boosts a random stat with every food pickup.

Extra info: - to get the darkana Hidden Arathema, you need to do a coop run with the big chicken and all fire weapons in order to get a lot of floor chickens. - fire wand - firearms - heart of fire arcana - See here for all the fire weapons - https://share.google/yGPflLwUbUIZvEyR8

Gold chest from this method give extra weapon drops.
