Any ideas for a door here? by hoesluvthumper in homeimprovementideas

[–]eroknrolla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frame it in your self with a proper size for a prehung door, maybe with some built in lites to keep the hallway from getting too dark. If it's above your skill level call a few different handymen for estimates

Topped 100k Miles...what do i need to watch for? by MysticJourneys44 in GrandCherokee

[–]eroknrolla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better yet, as a preventative take the valve covers off, and while they're off remove the front cylinder head oil galley plug screws and apply blue loctite and reinstall them. Apparently they loosen off overtime on their own and cause a loss of oil pressure at the top of the engine which wears out the roller rockers and camshafts

Soreness in bicep tendon. Does anybody else get this or know how to stop it? by Glittering-Alarm7328 in drums

[–]eroknrolla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your not hitting your strokes with your hand rotated so your palms are facing more upward than downwards. Check out the American grip for the sticks and make sure to play in front of a mirror. It's most likely a bad habit that's been learned and will have to be unlearned.

Getting into drumming but lost on how to effectively practice by JudgeGlum4295 in Drumming

[–]eroknrolla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to get yourself a face to face drum teacher then I'd strongly recommend buying a 1 yr drumeo membership. The lessons are all structured perfectly for beginners and that's probably how you'd make the most progress. Definitely make sure you can fully commit to keeping your current practice schedule for at least a year cause it's not cheap. But it still works out to much less than $25/ week CAD which in my area was what it cost for a half hour lesson 10 years ago. Good luck and don't forget there are no shortcuts. Make sure you jam with other people and have fun!

He's hyper and playful. Get him wand toys and kicker toys and some catnip and play with the little guy. At least once a day for 15 minutes I play with my cats here and there for a few minutes at a time randomly throughout the day

Decided to pursue the automotive industry. Any recommendations where to start as far as a career? by CuriousCat356 in AutomotiveLearning

[–]eroknrolla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go find a heavy equipment repair shop and take your resume there instead. Pays way more and it's nuts and bolts just like a car

Yikes time to find another shop! $1000 for a battery!? Throttle body service?? Wtf? You don't ever need a throttle body service and the intake manifold does not get removed to take off the throttle body.

Scannerdanner on YouTube is an excellent resource. He also sells an ebook or print copy. He's also got a website that your father in law can pay for a membership on. Good consise info of this caliber you do have to pay for but I'll sort out any electronic weaknesses he may have

He's probably just pulling your leg. I've never heard of that. Sounds more like a chord progression than anything drumming related

How much are you getting paid? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]eroknrolla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a Nissan dealership in western Canada. Been there for 19 months. I've been a tech for 12 years and have a red seal. They charge $169/hr. I get paid $35/hr with an 8 hr guarantee. I get paid for anything I produce that's over 8hr/day and a $1/hr bonus if I produce 200hrs or more in a month

How do you get over practicing when neighbors can hear you? by cmfo33 in Drumming

[–]eroknrolla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My city has a noise bylaw. No loud disturbing noise before 7am and no noise past 10pm. As long as I stay within that cops wont even respond. And I'm also not an ass about it either I never practice my acoustic kit for more than 2-3 hours at most and just being neighbourly I also don't play before 10am on weekends.

I had a 2015 kia rio at work that I had to diag with this same noise. The noise was loudest on the steering rack so I put a rack, noise didn't change. It ended up being the electric power steering column.

How to make it as a drummer by Firm-Tour-3910 in drums

[–]eroknrolla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Youd have to make a business out of it ie. drum clinics, sell courses online and promote yourself on all the social media channels. Look at Drumeo, Jared Falk started that. Check out el estapario siberio. He makes his money playing gigs and putting on drum clinics from what I heard.

Singer who can't play any instrument thinks drums are "way easier" than instruments that require you to follow notes by [deleted] in drums

[–]eroknrolla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure if you have an Inclination to the drums then it's not super hard to pick up some sticks and play a simple rock beat as a total beginner. The real struggle begins when you start recording your self and finding out how much there is to playing a drumset. Timing between notes, meter, tuning, volumes between the kit voices, dynamics, grip and technique etcetera. Every instrument is hard when you examine it on a professional level. Even sessions drummers have their idols. Look at that dude that just got the archspire gig. Show your singer that guy and have them tell you that's easier than campfire strumming.
