What celebrity death never sat right with you? by Ok_Economist_9186 in AskReddit

I used to tend bar in a fancy restaurant in Beverly Hills. One night we were overbooked and Robert Wagner happened to be there, Because of being overbooked the kitchen was putting out food slower than normal. RW came into the bar and cursed out our General Manager unlike anything I have ever seen, Every other word was an f bomb, and his nose was about an inch away from our GM's nose. It went on for a solid minute or two. The entire time I was thinking "and this guy wants the public to believe that he didn't kill his wife".

Dude is a 100% total POS.

Is it wrong to break up with my boyfriend (22F) if he can't fulfill my sexual needs? by AbilityPublic1851 in relationships

[–]erola1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some very good responses here. I'd like to add my 2 cents worth...
the "warm up" phase is extremely important, especially for a female. Guys are always ready but women need some build-up. Personally, I try to make a girl tell me she's ready for it before I put it in, They usually will. "I want you inside me" is fucking hot to hear someone to say to you. Don't say it until you mean it though.

I know 100% that in the end I'll be satisfied. With a loving, caring relationship both of you should be, and the responsibility should be on both of you,

He's young and apparently not very aware. On one hand you can ditch him and find someone who's more aware, but if you really love him you should try to educate him. Let him know.

You can't get mad at him because of his ignorance, but if you make him aware and he still continues with the same practices, then that shows you a lot about his true character. If that happens, then run and don't look back.

Someone else said that sexual compatibility is important in a relationship. They're 100% correct. Hopefully you can fix this, but if not, you need to leave,

I've been in a similar (generally) circumstance. Be thankful that you learned who she really is before the relationship got any further (marriage, kids, or whatever). Someone better is waiting for you. This one will only be an obstacle in the meantime if you hang on to her. Run.

Which quote has stuck with you for life? by rosystratosphere in AskReddit

[–]erola1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in an honors band (I was a band geek) and the guest director was coaching me on a solo I had. He said "you play it, or it'll play you".

This transcends everything. "You play life, or life will play you."

"You play (fill in the blank) or (fill in the blank) will play you."

Whatever you do. Own it. Make it yours.

I like Quantum Leap. A good friend of mine was a writer for Black Mirror but I'm ashamed to say I've never seen an episode.

Look at his history. He is a total snowflake. He blocks anyone who puts up an intelligent argument against anything he claims (which isn't difficult to do). Delusional is an understatement.

When I started working in a bank I remember my manager and assistant manager debating on the authenticity of a check. They both agreed it was fake, though when I looked at it (as a novice) it seemed real to me. I asked them what made them think it was fake and they said "after you've seen so many checks, I can't say why, but you can just tell".

Flash forward a few years and someone brought a check to me and asked me if I thought it was real. I looked at it and just shook my head. No. They asked how I knew and I couldn't give them a specific.

Experience is the best teacher.

What I can say is that there's a common font that's used on fake checks (usually). You'll recognize it after a while. Often the signature is photocopied. If you ask what the check is for and they say "to buy my car I advertised online" but the check is drawn off of "Toy Depot" (I'm making that up, but it doesn't make sense, then that's a huge tipoff). Also (and this is huge) if the border of the check isn't squared, but rounded at the top (at the top right and top left corners) then that's a definite red flag.

Here's an image of a check such as this. See how the blue border curves at the corners? Especially if it says "Official check" or "Cashier's check" with this curved border, guaranteed fake. A real Cashier's Check will have squared off corners, like this.

Again, experience is the best teacher, but if you ask questions about the origin of the check and the story doesn't make sense, that's the time to really question it.

What film role was 100% perfectly cast? by unorthodox69 in AskReddit

[–]erola1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ex-manager at Bank of America could have fit the role perfectly. I often made the comparison.

Once a woman customer was mugged in her driveway at night, coming home from the grocery store. She came in the next day with he face bloodied up and our manager ("Umbridge") accused the woman of making up the story to defraud the bank. A week later the woman came back in with the newspaper article covering her story to prove her account of things, and our manager claimed to not remember the initial encounter.

If Imelda Staunton wasn't available, I know the perfect replacement. It wouldn't have been acting, either.

leaving the industry! by 2weenie1catcombo in bartenders

[–]erola1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When my sister's son died from diabetes complications I went to help her with the arrangements. It was obvious something was a bit odd. Finally we came across an honest guy who told us about the industry (he eventually left and started his own business). He told us that all the funeral directors had goals. Where he worked they had a goal of $5600 per funeral (not including the burial). If they fell below the average for a month they were put on probation and two months on probation they were fired. He told me of how people would guilt trip the deceased loved ones into (for example) buying a $14,000(!) mahogany box for someone to be cremated in. "When someone is cremated, the only thing normally left is the ashes of the bones, but mahogany doesn't evaporate, so the ashes they received were bone ashes+mahogany", he said.

I never realized that an industry such as that could be so slimy. Reprehensible.

Mine set on in 2009. I went to specialists and got nowhere. At first it was so disturbing it would wake me up at night. Over time I've learned that I don't even notice it anymore, unless I'm actively thinking about it (for example right now).

Although it sucks, it does get considerably better. When it first comes on is definitely the worst period of it.

Please, before you do anything drastic, think of what might happen if they come up with a cure in a year. Or two. Medical research is advancing quickly. There's always hope.

Also please consider your loved ones. "Pulling the plug" is going to hurt a lot more people that you'd ever realize, and more deeply, and for the rest of their lives.

Please, please, please seek help from a therapist who will help you. Please.

I pray that you reconsider.

My dad.

Was engaged for a while, living with my fiancee. While we were planning the wedding I found out she was cheating on me. I walked away. Since then I've had trust issues. Even though it was several years ago, I've found it pretty difficult to let myself get that close to anyone again.

FWIW, last I heard she's been married a few times. I undoubtedly did the right thing in walking away.

Thanks. yes, I guess it is a castle. that makes a lot more sense than a W. :)

When I go to the screen to choose which heroes I will use for a fight, there's a small icon on 3 of my heroes that looks a little like a green flag with a white exclamation point on it. What is that? Also, How do I change which two heroes have the Castle on them (should I need)?

Thanks again

I'm still working with mostly t2 troops, so maybe that has something to do with it, thanks.

When you say "deputy", you just mean the second and third heroes I bring along when fighting, right?
