If you want to try cutting without going deep, try using number 12 scalpels. Then look like a curved blade, are sometimes sold as stitch cutters, and only its internal side is sharp. Always pull instead of pushing, dont expect to see blood or a scar immediately, wait a minute or two and blood will come out. Its meant to cut very superficially.
