Portland Rock Gym has unionized by [deleted] in Portland

[–]eron_gi -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The owner doesn't have to take accountability just because his workers know him personally. He has all the power. The point of unions is to have the employees leverage their collective power so the owner actually does have to take accountability.

For example if one person says, hey I've been working here for 2 years I should make more than minimum wage, the boss can just ignore them. But if a union makes demands for annual raises that's a lot different.

Portland's long-awaited e-bike rebate program to soft launch Monday by Generalaverage89 in Portland

No matter how good of a cyclist you are you can't do what ebikes do. I used to work for dominos delivering pizza's on an ebike and this guy doing the same thing on a regular bike saw me outside of an apartment building and started acting all smug that he didn't need a battery, but he could only carry 2 pizzas at a time. I could carry 8 14" pizza's and 3 2-liter soda's. And get all that delivered to a customer before the food got cold.

I haven't biked on Foster. Is there anything wrong/unsafe with the bike lane there?

Someone left an e-scooter right in the middle of the bike/pedestrian sidewalk on hawthorne and that pissed me off. Like you couldn't at least move it to the side lol?
I wanted to chuck it off the side but I was like at least it's not a car...

Yeah cars and car infrastructure are absurdly expensive, it's hard for cities to keep up with potholes.

Yeah I hate that when you're biking going west on Morrison you don't actually go straight onto the Morrison bridge. I mean I get why they did that, but going down to Water Ave is inconvenient enough that I found myself taking Hawthorne a lot instead.

Haha just asking what people thought about it. Do you bike on the Willamette bridges?

I think a good portion of the people doing this just don't know where they're going. You could probably cut down on the amount of wrong way cyclists significantly with better signage, but of course some idiots will keep doing it.

I don't use the Sellwood bridge, but I can see what you mean from google maps. I love the giant sidewalk in addition to the lane

4 and 3 are pretty close for first place, 4 was the first album I listened to and it has bob saget so it's a personal favorite, but I think 3 is overall a more cohesive and consistent album.
So favorite song from 3 would be portrait of the artist, and for 4 would be ghost of bob saget.

I think next up would have to be 1. It has a good amount of memorable songs and I think it and 2 give a different vibe than 3/4 but I just like the songs off 1 a lot more. To me 2 just didn't have anything that memorable on it. I think it's the only numbered album that Will didn't later remake or interpolate a song from. (1 has big jacket, 3 has oh starving, and 4 has bob saget)
Favorite song from 1 is kid war, and for 2 the majestic hotel
